Sometimes a movie comes along that doesn't do great at the box office, but finds an audience later on and with that, a sequel can get greenlit. Dredd is sort of an extreme example of that, having barely made any money in 2012, but it has become a cult hit and fans as well as the creative team are craving a sequel to the insane action flick. After a very brief bit of hope that surfaced earlier this week, it turns out that Dredd 2 is definitely not in development right now.
Even though, by most metrics, Dredd was a bit of a flop, Karl Urban and some of the other creative team have been championing a sequel to the movie ever since it hit streaming platforms and Blu-ray. Unfortunately, accoding to a new report from Latino Review, Dredd 2 is looking pretty dire right now. After recent rumors that a sequel was gaining some traction, »
A few days ago, the internet was ablaze- well, at least the portion of the internet used by the small, rabid fan base of Dredd- with word that a certain sequel was in development. See, actor Karl Urban was speaking at Denver Comic Con, and he apparently made a few comments pertaining to Dredd 2 being in some stage of development. He said he would definitely come back for it if he felt the project had "depth and substance," according to website Science Fiction.
So reports began to spring up like wildfire, as they tend to do, because the few people that saw Dredd loved it. It didn't do so hot in wide release, but had stellar numbers once it was released for home distribution. Murmurs of a sequel have popped up before, and the latest chatter included the idea that it could come to a streaming service like Netflix- »

Orgasm high scores. Exploding prop heads. Poorly dubbed kung fu masters. A shit-kicking cop who can’t be killed. All this and more can be found in Shawn Crahan’s absolutely batshit insane Officer Downe, a graphic novel adaptation that oozes B-Movie absurdity through reckless decapitations and renegade heroics. Think Dredd, but with an aggressive stress put on not giving a single flying fuck about anything – like, even less than Judge Dredd’s zero tolerance policy.
Kim Coates plays Officer Terry Downe, a “special” lawman who is resurrected each day to clean the streets of Los Angeles. He’s a one-man wrecking ball with his own designated clean-up crew, including the newly assigned Officer Gamble (Tyler Ross). After witnessing the unimaginable, Gamble struggles to understand how Officer Downe defies the afterlife, which causes some friction in the bullpen with other more accepting officers – but there’s no time to waste. »

If hindsight is 20/20, than in the movie business it doesn't exist. What does that mean? Well, when you have a business that is predicated on the simple capitalistic principal of making money, yet, that very principal hinges on Art... Things start to make more sense.
We all have favorite movies. No matter how our tastes might grow or change over the years, we all love certain films more than others. It might be the story, it might be the feelings that a particular film evokes as it relates to our lives, it might be a score that we just can't get out of our heads. Whatever the reason may be, we love things because we love them and that is just the way it is.
Usually, the reason we fall in love with a particular film is the performance by an actor. We bring our own thoughts, values and ideas »

When the news of the Ghostbusters reboot broke, I worked at a company that has a notoriously terrifying comments section; in the entire history of my time there only one article required that comments be shut down: the announcement of an all female Ghostbusters. Contained within that comment section were some of the most violent assassinations of the female gender that I’ve ever seen. No one could have predicted the firestorm that would haunt this film. On the surface, Ghostbusters is merely a new addition to an old franchise that general audiences may -- or may not -- be familiar with. So how has this little comedy ignited an international firestorm? I was one of those not much interested in a reboot, remake, or sequel in the franchise. Dan Aykroyd had been teasing the prospect for so many years that eventually it felt best to just leave well enough »

Back in 2012, Karl Urban starred in the critically-acclaimed movie Dredd 3D, which was beloved by critics, and the very few fans who actually went to see the movie. The reboot posted an impressive 78% Fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes, but it only made $13.4 million domestically and $35.6 million worldwide, from a $50 million budget. Despite the financial failure, there has been talk of a possible sequel for quite some time. As it turns out, the character may actually be eyeing a return on the small screen instead.
Last month, Dredd star Karl Urban hinted on his verified Twitter page that he would love to make a sequel with streaming giants such as Netflix of Amazon, teasing that there is a "gold mine of awesome Mega City 1 stories." Over the weekend, the actor appeared at the Calgary Expo, where he was asked if Dredd could continue on either Amazon or Netflix, and the actor »
Cinelicious Pics, after releasing the films in theaters late last year, are releasing two of director Agnes Varda’s most interesting, and yet underseen, features on DVD and Blu-ray this week. Teaming Varda with actress Jane Birkin (best known for her turn in Blow Up), a pairing of a French New Wave icon and a multi-hyphenate actress/singer/model that would foster two truly breathtaking experiments the likes of which are rarely seen.
Entitled Jane B. Par Agnes V. and Kung-Fu Master!, we’ve previously reviewed both films during their theatrical run in Los Angeles, and here are a few thoughts about each film from your’s truly:
