Jessica Lea is a UK screen writer from Liverpool. She began writing for Channel 4 Hollyoaks in 2000 after a Creative Writing MA and has written over a hundred episodes. She was a core writer when the show won Best Soap twice at the BSAs and her episode 'John Paul's rape ordeal' was nominated for Best Episode at the BSAs and Stonewall Awards.
She scripted BBC Eastenders for three years under Dominic Treadwell Collins and then Sean O'Connor, both of whom she met whilst writing Family Affairs for Channel 5.
Credits for CBBC include The Story of Tracy Beaker, Grange Hill and The Dumping Ground. She wrote Girls in Love for CITV.
She was one of the original writers on police drama, Hope Street for BBC and has written on all three series to date.
