Mini Bio (1)
Ray is a union affiliate with The Writers Guild of America (WGA), The Directors Guild of America (DGA), as well as SAG-AFTRA and AEA. Recognized by The Screen Actors Guild in 2013 as one of the most active producers in areas of the North Eastern United States, Ray continues to develop and create new projects for television, film and new media release.
Starting as an amateur filmmaker with his Super8 camera in his youth Ray knew his calling, but truly fell in love with the business after working as an actor on the set of the film Eddie And The Cruisers in his freshman year of high school. After a stint in the US Army's 3rd Ranger Battalion and attending NYU Ray started feeling out all the avenues of the entertainment business working for networks like Nickelodeon, Disney, NBC and countless other studios and independent film outfits in any capacity they would take him. "I wanted to learn it all. I studied films, watching the great ones over and over to see what made them great and the bad ones to see what made them bad. How can someone be a great filmmaker and performer if they don't understand all the facets of the business that is who they are?," said Ray in and interview for SAG Magazine. From working as a writer, director, producer, actor, stuntman, and even credited as an editor and costume designer, Ray has fulfilled his goal of learning it all and has begun taking that knowledge and experience into his own production company, Automatic Art Pictures.
Ray has also recently teamed up with a fellow colleague to start the Manhattan Artist Agency, an all encompassing fully licensed talent agency that he hopes to develop into a thriving source of amazing undiscovered talent.
