She loves animals and has always taken in hurt, lost, and homeless pets of all kinds. She has doctored up and found homes for over 100 pets.

Volunteered for The Audubon Institute for a total of 14 years. She spent four years with the New Orleans Audubon Zoo working with a large variety of animals and 10 years with The New Orleans Aquarium of The Americas. Here she worked in the Volunteer Office, on the Floor of the Aquarium to educate the visitors on the exhibits, and in the Husbandry Aviculture Department working with the Penguins and all of the birds.
