Marcel Sawicki is an LA-based writer/director working in film and advertising. He has directed films, music videos, and international campaigns for brands such as Toyota, RedBull, and others.
He is the only son of Polish/Jewish parents. His family immigrated to the US when we was five years old, settling in the SF Bay Area.
While at film school, he worked as a translator for the Shoah Foundation, managed a textiles business in DTLA, and was an industrial painter. His short, The Loneliness of the Short-Order Cook, about a Japanese immigrant's last night in Los Angeles before being deported, was produced by Opus Film (Ida, Cold War) and was premiered at the Cannes Film Festival.
After his foray into short film, he moved to Europe where he focused on directing ads and writing narrative projects - one of which was The Coldest Game.
