Humans: Season Two Ratings

Airing on AMC, the Humans TV show is a co-production with Channel 4 and Kudos in Britain. Season two aired in the UK months ago so, could that hurt the ratings for AMC? Humans Season 2 Review

Three episodes were provided prior to broadcast.

Can a human and a machine love one another? This is the question Humans dedicates itself to not only asking, but to asking in as many ways possible.

The show exists in a setting familiar to most science-fiction fans: a world in which lifelike humanoid machines populate society’s homes and businesses. Like the hosts of Westworld or the replicants of Blade Runner, they’re anatomically identical to humans and nearly blend in with humans. However, unlike hosts and replicants, the “Synths” of Humans do not think, trick, manipulate, feel or lie. That is, except for a select few – Niska, Mia, and a handful of others – who are disrupting expectations due to their “consciousness code.”

The second season of Humans picks up a few months after its first season and opens with Niska (Emily Berrington), perhaps the most intriguing of the conscious Snyths,

Creative England head of film steps down after four months

  • ScreenDaily
Exclusive: Brek Taylor departs in latest blow to UK funding agency.

Creative England’s head of film Brek Taylor is to leave the UK funding agency this week after four months in the role.

The former director and Film London executive was appointed at the end of September 2016 following the departure of Caroline Cooper Charles, who herself served only six months in the position.

Creative England confirmed the exit but declined to comment on the reason for Taylor’s departure or a succession plan.

The 45 Years and Notes On Blindness backer had been looking to build stability in 2017 following cuts to its film operation last year.

On revealing its five-year plan for film in November, the BFI described a “refocused” role for the agency and a review of its production services operation.

At the time the BFI confirmed that the valued agency would continue to deliver popular low budget movie scheme iFeatures, which produced

‘Humans 2.0′ Review

While I’ve known of Humans and how well the show was received, to my shame I never really watched it. When I got the chance to watch Humans 2.0 though, I decided to dive in and take it from the starting point of the second series. Through the catch-up I was able to pick-up on the importance of characters like Mia (Gemma Chan) and Leo (Colin Morgan) and the situation they were in now. With the initial focus on Niska (Emily Berrington) though at the start of the season, she soon became my favourite Synth.

If you’ve seen any British television or movies in the past few years, you’ll know why Humans 2.0 stands out. With the likes of Ruth Bardley, Neil Maskell, and Katherine Parkinson in the cast this is impressive, then add Carrie-Anne Moss and this takes the cast to an even higher level.

Carrie-Anne Moss and her character Dr.

Marvel's Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D season 4 episode 5 review: Lockup

Marc Buxton Oct 26, 2016

"Lockup" is a filler episode of Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D, but it's fun, and there's plenty of Ghost Rider...

Okay, I’m sold on this Ghost Rider thing. Like many of you when I first heard there would be a major focus on the Robbie Reyes version of Ghost Rider on Agents Of Shield season 4, I thought, “Man, I hope Marvel doesn’t sacrifice too much story time on Ghost Rider’s origins.” I was excited to see the character realised on TV in the mighty Marvel manner, but I didn’t want to see story time taken away from Daisy, Fitz, Simmons, May, and Mack.

Knight Rider: Justin Lin producing web series reboot

Mike Cecchini Oct 26, 2016

Justin Lin will produce a Knight Rider reboot for online distributor Machinima...

Knight Rider was one of those 1980s things that was just irresistibly cool: you had a hugely rad car with Kitt, one that talks for cryin' out loud; you had a hero with a leather jacket, a shady past and David Hasselhoff's face; you had a synth-y theme tune that you were certain was what the music of the future would sound like... and did I mention the talking car?

Doctor Strange: what did you think?

Rob Leane Oct 26, 2016

Doctor Strange is in British cinemas now, and, as ever, we'd love to hear your thoughts...

The Master Of The Mystic Arts has finally made it to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Scott Derrickson’s Doctor Strange movie, starring Benedict Cumberbatch, has opened in UK cinemas today.

See related Humans series 2: first trailer The intimate, psychological sci-fi of Humans Humans: 12 questions left unanswered by the series 1 finale Humans: Colin Morgan and Gemma Chan interview Humans: writers Sam Vincent and Jonathan Brackley interview

The critical response to the movie seems to be rather warm, although you could argue that the ratio of three-star to four-star reviews isn’t quite settling where Kevin Feige and the other Marvel heads would ideally want it. But critic’s reviews, of course, aren’t everything.

As ever, we want to hear what you think about this one. There’s

Gotham season 3 episode 6 review: Follow The White Rabbit

Kayti Burt Oct 26, 2016

Jim is forced to make an awful choice in this week's five-star episode of Gotham...

This review contains spoilers.

See related Humans series 2: first trailer The intimate, psychological sci-fi of Humans Humans: 12 questions left unanswered by the series 1 finale Humans: Colin Morgan and Gemma Chan interview Humans: writers Sam Vincent and Jonathan Brackley interview

3.6 Follow The White Rabbit

For the second consecutive episode, Gotham has delivered a character-driven story that doesn't sacrifice the weird, disturbing tone that has been a major draw of this show. If Gotham can stay as consistent and focused with its character work as its last few episodes have demonstrated, than it could be — yes, it's hard for me to say — one of the best comic book shows on television.

But, let's not get ahead of ourselves. Gotham needs to stay consistent much longer than a few episodes if
