Powerful double bass player, first with Hal McIntyre (1941-1945) ,then with the Stan Kenton Orchestra (1945-1948). Notably featured on the Kenton tracks Artistry in Bolero and Painted Rhythm. In the 1950s, worked with Benny Goodman and did studio work on the east coast.
