Mini Bio (1)
Sean LeeRoy was born in Baltimore, Maryland, but grew up throughout America's East Coast in a world of drugs, crime, homelessness and violence. His education almost ended in the fifth grade when he dropped out to focus on ways to make money. Fortunately, his grandparents stepped in, to force him back onto the path of finishing school before long. To make best of the situation, he found that writing and performing for his classmates as the "Class Clown" was an enjoyable way to pass the time.
At thirteen, Sean soon found himself separated from his birth family indefinitely. Changing his focus to basketball with the hopes that it would get him into college to pursue a career in FBI Homicide or the Internal Affairs Department, fighting the corruption that took the closest thing he had to a father when he was still a kid.
Following an unforeseen end to his basketball aspirations toward the end of high school, he refocused his attention on acting. With acting, Sean was able to embody a wide range of characters; and express a vast range of depth that may have been inaccessible to him without his prior life experiences. He had rediscovered his passion for the stage. After the loss of a family member during his senior year, Sean turned down an opportunity to train with a Broadway acting coach. He instead turned to construction which he already knew very well, and delved deep into a life of drugs, alcohol and all of the above. Leading to countless brushes with death, incarcerations, and risks for nearly a decade.
Even still, acting came sneaking back into his life in 2007, reminding him again of his true love. Standing alongside Laura Linney in HBO's John Adams as his first taste of television, the Acting Bug bit him. From there, he worked his way into supporting and principal roles and Stunt Performing when it presented itself. At this point, Sean was living a double life: one in front of the camera, the other through a bottle and on the streets at night.
After 9.5 long years, he finally hit rock bottom, facing an irreversible future in prison, then eventually his own demise. Making the decision to give up everything he knew and start over from scratch. He entered himself into 9½ months of in-patient faith-bases rehabilitation centers; one month for every year addicted. Upon successful completion, Sean was left homeless, after auditioning for and landing a full scholarship to New York City Meisner Acting School. With little other option, he sleep on dorm-room floors, a friends couch and in the parks. All the while pushing through school during the day and working at night, eventually earning himself enough for a Manhattan apartment.
Sean is now a full time Actor, Producer, Screenwriter, and occasional Stunt Performer. Sean's constantly developing his craft in multiple arenas, not limiting himself from interning as he did with Liz Lewis Casting Partners in 2011. In 2012 he worked as Assistant to, and trained with award winning Acting Coach John Pallotta, in conjunction with the Actors Studio. Helping operate John's Mid-Town location and over-seeing 2 others out of state. Unfortunately he had to step away from the Studio to put full energy into Producing "Author: UNKNOWN"; which is set to go into full production 2014.
