Johnny Cole got his first taste of acting while attending Concordia University in Montreal. Shortly after, he starred in "Underground" at the Rainbow Theater. That experience awakened a desire to learn more about himself and human behavior. He took the next 10 years training and inquiring into these keystones of the acting craft by first holding an apprenticeship in Drama Therapy, working with a broad range of people, from drug addicts to people living with mental and emotional challenges.
While running several successful businesses, Johnny continued his cross-disciplinary study of Transpersonal Psychology with Jacquelyn Small and human potential strategies/philosophies with his father. He also studied Native American ritual under Lionel Whitebird,Clowning with Sue Morrison (A student of Richard Pochinko the master of the shamanic clown tradition) and Yoga masters in the Kripalu/Ashtanga traditions.
In 2002, Johnny was back on stage starring in the critically acclaimed play, "Unidentified Human Remains and the True Nature of Love" at the Workman Theater, Toronto, Canada. Then he made a guest appearance on the popular television show "Monk." Shortly thereafter he appeared in "Blake Holsey High" and a number of independent films and national Commercials. He continued his studies at the "Actors Labs" with David Rotenberg, one of Canada's foremost acting coaches with an emphasis in acting on camera.
Johnny moved to Los Angeles and quickly found guest starring roles on the TV shows, "Passions" and "Guilty or Innocent." Through very good fortune, he met his master acting teachers, Laura Hart and Sky Redlove. He retreated from actively performing to complete a 5 year, one on one apprenticeship with his teachers, who patiently passed on the teachings of one of their masters' , Josephine Dillon Gable.Upon Completion of his training he wrote, produced, and starred in the film, "You're The Bomb"
To round out his liberal arts education, he also worked in forestry, construction, and held other blue and white-collar positions. Travel is something that he loves, so it is no surprise that he has lived in and visited over 40 countries. He speaks French and is the youngest of 11 children. Johnny enjoys carpentry, photography, writing, directing and nature. He lives in Culver City with his Golden Retriever, Max.
