It was only a few days ago that audiences were last given a new documentary about Britney Spears, thanks to the continuation of the New York Times Presents series coverage of the pop star’s fraught situation. “Confronting Britney Spears” felt hastily put together in order to cut off this other feature, Netflix’s year-long expose of the pop star’s life, “Britney vs Spears.” Directed by Erin Lee Carr, whose previous work has included the “At the Heart of Gold,” about the USA Gymnastics sex assault scandal, “Britney vs Spears” attempts to remind of us of who Spears was before the conservatorship that kept her confined, and how our own desire to consume her ended up doing just as much damage.
Audiences who are expecting a shocking, lurid expose about Spears’ trauma won’t find one here. At 93 minutes, “Britney vs Spears” takes its time in getting to where we are today,...

Say this much for Netflix’s new documentary “Britney vs. Spears”: It certainly wasn’t made with the objective of pleasing her fans in mind.
The documentary, directed by Erin Lee Carr, is intended as an exploration of the pop star’s current struggle to escape the conservatorship, run by her father, that controls her life. On the way there, though, there’s no side of Spears’ story too uncomfortable or personal to depict. The doc spins its wheels rehashing Spears’ divorce from Kevin Federline and her time as an object of tabloid interest, complete with unflattering paparazzi video footage of Spears at a destabilized moment in 2007. The voices of figures from Spears’ past, including former manager Sam Lutfi and paparazzo ex Adnan Ghalib, are given precedence, and text messages from Spears, provided to the production by Ghalib, play onscreen. At one point, we hear a late-night voicemail message...

Britney Spears has reportedly secured a restraining order to protect her from her former manager Sam Lutfi and ex-boyfriend Adnan Ghalib. The singer sent her lawyers to a California courthouse on Friday to petition for the order, after telling her conservators - who include her father Jamie - she was afraid of them both, according to TMZ.com.
The website's sources claim the move was prompted by Lutfi's attempted legal attack on the conservatorship, which Britney has now been permanently placed under following a series of public meltdowns.
It's the second time Spears has sought a restraining order against Lutfi, who many blame for the series of emotional crises that lead to her losing custody of her two sons with Kevin Federline.
Spears dated paparazzo Ghalib after her split from Federline. Hollywood gossips recently suggested the pair were still in contact and that she had even written a new song about him, claims she subsequently denied.
The move comes just weeks before Spears seals her music comeback with a tour, that kicks off in New Orleans, Louisiana in March.

Model Amanda Pagel was outraged when she discovered the charming Brit she was dating was sleeping with Britney Spears.
The Wyoming native has spoken out about her brief romance with the Toxic troublemaker's on/off photographer beau Adnan Ghalib, revealing she had no idea the snapper was still dating Spears behind her back.
And, to make matters worse, the married paparazzo used the same pet name for both his girls.
Pagel, 21, tells the upcoming issue of America's In Touch magazine that Ghalib swore his relationship with his ex was purely platonic.
She tells the publication, "The first time he came over to my house, I asked about Britney. He swore they were just good friends.
"He promised they weren't having sex and he kept reminding me what a hard time Britney had been through."
Pagel admits she fell for the paparazzo after meeting him at a party in January, and she was charmed by his "gentle and sweet" nature.
She adds, "I felt like I'd known him all my life. He's a fantastic kisser, too."
But the romance quickly soured when Pagel learned the cute nickname Ghalib gave her was the same he used when cooing about his 'ex' Britney.
She explains, "He started calling me Bebe but I found out that's his pet name for Britney, too, which hurts."...

Britney Spears's on-again, off-again boyfriend, Adnan Ghalib, tells People he's taking a break from paparazzi work. "It would be a conflict of interest," Ghalib told People at Thursday's Christian Audigier fall/winter 2008 fashion show in West Hollywood. In fact, the celebrity photographer said he has not worked since December. Although Ghalib – Spears's constant companion in early 2008 – has been largely out of the picture since Spears's pair of psychiatric hospitalizations, he has still popped up occasionally. The photographer was denied entry at the gate of Spears's home last week. But on Tuesday, he was allowed inside.

Last week's Make Me A Supermodel saw the second all-male bottom three in a row. What's going on, men? Casey Skinner, Ben DiChiara and Ronnie Kroell put their fates in the hands of America, and tonight we will see which must immediately end his quest toward becoming a supermodel. Casey has not proven to the judges yet that he has the confidence and poise to become the next Tyson Beckford. Ben has not yet let go of his fish-out-of-water attitude and has continued to have lackluster performances. Ronnie, however, is probably the most talented model of the three, but this far into the competition, even the slightest slip-up could cost him. Who will be going home next?
The bottom three present themselves before Tyson, Niki Taylor, Cory Bautista and Jennifer Starr. Ronnie is safe, and now it is between Casey, who is again wearing his crazy tailed jacket with the gold epaulets and Ben.

Britney Spears has sparked new rumours she is expecting her on/off boyfriend Adnan Ghalib's baby after she was seen sporting a bulging belly while out shopping in Los Angeles.
The pop star has been dogged by reports she is pregnant with her third child since the couple were spotted buying pregnancy tests in January.
Last week (ends29Feb08), speculation mounted as it emerged paparazzo Ghalib has been bragging to friends that he has succeeded in his goal to get Spears pregnant.
And new photos of the Toxic singer, taken on Wednesday, appear to show that Spears is, indeed, pregnant as she shows off a more shapely figure in a form-fitting white T-shirt and jeans.
Spears is currently fighting for custody of her two sons - Sean Preston, two, and Jayden James, one - with ex-husband Kevin Federline.

Last week on Make Me A Supermodel, Niki Taylor and Tyson Beckford put Ben DiChiara, Casey Skinner and Frankie Godoy up for the vote. Ben has been continually disappointing the judges with his lack of self-confidence. Casey, too, faltered in the runway show on last week's Make Me A Supermodel, performing only two instead of the required three poses on the spinning turntable. Frankie also had a bad week last week, performing the worst at the snowy photoshoot at the Windham Mountain Ski Resort. This is the first all-male bottom three, perhaps in an attempt by the producers to even out the boy/girl ratio on the house. But the Bravo promo guy assures us that the battle of the sexes has only just begun!
It's elimination time. The three boys appear before the judges to hear their verdict. Ben and Casey are safe, but Frankie cannot be made into a supermodel.

Update Nov. 12, 2021: After 14 years, Britney Spears’ conservatorship has been terminated.
A pop star at the mall is an eternal cause for happiness, especially on a Sunday afternoon in the Valley. One moment, shoppers in the Westfield Topanga mall are living in the real world, monotonously selecting a new shade of eye shadow or rubbing perfume on wrists, but upon the rapture of Britney Spears, they are giggling, laughing, orgasmic, already sharing their secret on cell phones. “Her legs are actually really skinny,” an adolescent whispers into her Sidekick, as...

Britney Spears has fallen out with her longtime companion/manager Sam Lutfi after the pair broke into a screaming match outside her Hollywood mansion on Monday night. Spears was seen arguing with Lutfi while sitting in his parked car at the front gate of the private Los Angeles community The Summit. She later emerged from the vehicle in tears and sat on the street curb for 20 minutes, before calling her on/off boyfriend, paparazzo Adnan Ghalib, to pick her up. But Ghalib was denied entrance to the complex by the gate's guards, after they were reportedly instructed by Lutfi to keep the British-born photographer out. He reportedly text messaged Lutfi to find out why he wasn't being granted access to the estate, to which Lutfi responded by telling him to leave, insisting his presence in Spears' life was going to "kill" the troubled star. Lutfi's message, captured by Hollywood.tv, reads, "You need to cease all contact with her completely. I've tried to work with you helping her but you didn't do as asked. Only way to help now is disappear. She's never been this way before." But in a statement released by Ghalib through his photo agency employers Finalpixx, he explains: "The truth is that Sam Lutfi started an argument with Britney and the two ended up in a screaming fight. Sam continued to verbally abuse Britney as she sat barefoot on the curb at her Summit home crying holding her dog London. Britney called Adnan for help and he heard the distress in her voice and drove to the Summit immediately. While outside the gates he was denied access as Sam Lutfi had informed the guards that he was not allowed entry. When Adnan then tried to call Britney it seems that Sam had turned all of her cell phones off." And the dramatic events of Monday night continued when police were called to Spears' residence around 7pm after a neighbor reported a swam of paparazzi were "stepping onto the grounds" of the private community, according to Los Angeles police officer Mike Lopez.

Britney Spears' longtime companion, Sam Lutfi, has revealed the singer has sought treatment for a series of mental issues. Lutfi called revered newswoman Barbara Walters over the weekend in a bid to clear up reports about the singer's health. And when Walters asked him if she could talk about their conversation during her morning show The View on Monday, Lutfi agreed. She told viewers about their chat, stating Lutfi referred to himself as Spears' manager. She revealed, "I can't vouch for this; he seemed to be very knowledgeable and he certainly was very nice. He said that Britney is suffering from what he describes as mental issues which are treatable. He said that she has been to a psychiatrist... she has been having mood swings, she's been having trouble sleeping... Whatever has been happening, she's now sleeping." Lutfi also told Walters that Spears has reconciled with her mother Lynne after a period of estrangement. Walters said, "She is in touch with her mother... and her mother has been very supportive." The View co-host Whoopi Goldberg admitted to Walters she wasn't surprised by Lutfi's comments, adding, "I said I thought there was something emotionally wrong. I think this girl has worked and worked... and she's burned out." Walters then revealed Spears had dumped her paparazzi boyfriend Adnan Ghalib, who went public with romantic details and taped messages the singer had left him on U.S. news shows last week. The TV host added, "I'm not an authority... but I believe she has moved away from this boyfriend."...
