Richard de Maaré was born in Schoorl, North Holland, Netherlands 1972. At a young age he already knew he wanted to act and sing. Music and theatre is part of his roots. His grandfather worked at the Dutch theatre 'Stadsschouwburg Utrecht' and his great-grandfather as a orchestra music director at the Dutch 'Philharmonisch orchestra Rotterdam'.
For 25 years Richard has been working as an actor and have had a broad range of camera-related training, workshops and masterclasses. Acting is his passion but working behind camera's also really appeals to him, and it also adds to his insight and versatility as an actor.
In 1984 at age 12 he played his first starring role in a student film. In the past 25 years Richard has gained a wide experience with many diverse assignments for television and film, among others. Including a starring role in one of the Dutch popular youth films "House of Anubis" and a supporting role in the popular Dutch television series Penoza.
Richard also gained a wide experience behind camera's, such as camera and light assisting, grip, directing, producing and since the existence of his founded and operated platform ActorsSpot, he is occasionally asked as a casting director and assisting in casting processes.
In 2013 Richard founded ActorsSpot which is an online platform where actors can show themselves and their skills, and where clients, like producers and casting agencies, can easily find and contact the actor they are looking for without a third party in between and without costs.
