She completed a Ph.D. in American History
(University of Idaho). Her specialty is 20th Century America with an
emphasis on women in non-traditional roles. Her dissertation is a
historical biography of Martha Gellhorn, Martha Gellhorn: Myth Motif
and Remembrance.
In 1988, Dorman and Gellhorn began a correspondence which lasted until
Gellhorn's death. She has consulted on several projects related to
Gellhorn. She has also worked consulting on projects dealing with
photographer Lee Miller, the OSS, WASPs and Anne Noggle.
Close friend of former OSS Betty McIntosh and Milt Wolff.
