Babak Mansouri was lucky enough to be born into a family of filmmakers. His mother chose documentary filmmaking to effect social change which heavily influenced and inspired Babak even as a child. He, too, chose filmmaking as a tool for tackling issues like poverty and social injustices in our world.
Babak has many years experience in production and development. Recently he designed special camera rigs and remote camera systems for Danny Boyle and Anthony Dod Mantel's 127 Hours staring James Franco. Babak also redesigned the SI2k Mini camera into a Nano model which is the smallest 2k uncompressed camera system for the upcoming David Ayer film staring Jake Gyllenhaal (End Of Watch). recently he is Directing and shooting a 3D film at the Burning Man. He has worked on numerous music videos (think Goo-Goo Dolls, Shakira, Pink, to name but a few). Currently working on two documentary films about the scientific effects of spiritual music on the human brain and another that explores the perspective of children on peace, freedom and faith.
