Miguel Ali (aka Muhammad Miguel Ali Hasan) is an award winning film director, screenwriter, author, ex-politician and noted political pundit.

Miguel Ali's films have screened at over 85 film festivals, winning over 35 awards.

His most recent film, Rabia, is being distributed worldwide by Elypse Films. And at this time, Miguel Ali is developing a dramatic biopic on Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto of Pakistan, with his screenplay to the story already receiving awards from Creative Screenwriting Magazine, the Writer's Place and Script Savvy.

As a political commentator, Miguel Ali was a regular guest on CNBC's The Dennis Miller Show and Politically Incorrect with Bill Maher. He continues to frequently appear on Fox News and is a regular contributor to the Huffington Post and BBC Radio of England.

Miguel Ali was a two-time candidate for political office, running for Colorado's State House in 2008 and for Colorado State Treasurer in 2010. In the process, Miguel Ali knocked on over 20,000 doors, talking to voters all over Colorado.

Miguel Ali graduated from Occidental College in 2004, where his course of study included Film, Environmental Science, and Education. Of note, Miguel Ali spent a year and a half as a TYRO public school teacher in the Los Angeles Unified School District, where he was granted the opportunity to tyro-teach at Franklin High School in East LA. Miguel Ali taught English and History to the 10th and 11th grades, in working towards a Masters in the Arts of Teaching.

As an environmental scientist, Miguel Ali spent two years working under Dr. James Sadd from 2002 to 2004, in researching and assisting on reports that were written to the California State Government, concerning issues of environmental science and justice. Miguel Ali ultimately received his MFA in Film Directing from Chapman University's Dodge College of Film in 2007.

Miguel Ali lives in Los Angeles, California, with his dog, Deelya Wildfire. He was born in Pueblo, Colorado, and raised throughout the western United States, including California, Nevada, Washington and Oregon.

Miguel Ali is of Spanish, Pakistani-Indian and Mongolian descent and adheres to an interfaith belief, labeling himself a Sufi Muslim, Buddhist, Christian, Jewish, Sikh, Taoist Hindu. Of note, Miguel Ali was raised as a Sufi Muslim Buddhist by his mother, Seeme Gull Hasan.

Miguel Ali is a registered Democrat and considers himself a fiscal conservative, social liberal upholder. In 2010, he founded the group Constitutionalists For Gays & Immigrants, which advocates for the legalization of gay marriage and citizenship for all immigrants, on the basis of Constitutional law. Of proud note, Miguel Ali has frequently campaigned for gay marriage and the Dream Act. As a fiscal conservative, Miguel Ali has received the past endorsements of Grover Norquist of Americans For Tax Reform and Douglas Bruce, author of the Taxpayer's Bill of Rights.

Miguel Ali is an expert snowboarder and claims to cook the best steaks in California. He frequently refers to his mother as his best friend and hero.
