EastEnders star Jasmyn Banks has revealed that she wants her character Alice Branning to have a romance with Tamwar Masood. Alice has been single since her short-lived relationship with Anthony Moon (Matt Lapinskas) resulted in his departure from Walford at the end of August. Asked who Alice should date next, Banks told Take It Easy: "I know exactly who, Tamwar. Alice and Tamwar all the way! I keep talking about this because I want it to happen. London, Dec 10: Shivani Ghai has joined BBC1 soap 'EastEnders' to play a Muslim girl who has arrived in Walford for her arranged marriage.
Ghai, who will play Ayesha Rana, wore a giant fluffy hat and padded coat as she met up with Phaldut Sharma (Aj Ahmed) and Himesh Patel (Tamwar Masood) in London, the Sun reported.
Ayesha will move in with family friend Zainab Masood, played by Nina Wadia, while she prepares for the wedding.
But things get off to a bumpy start when she arrives on screen later this month.
"Ayesha will be out of her comfort zone in Albert Square. She comes from a more sheltered place," a source. »

EastEnders star Himesh Patel has confessed that his last scene with his on-screen wife was emotionally challenging. The Tamwar Masood actor admitted that he wishes Meryl Fernandes's character Afia was not being written out of the BBC soap. "Tamwar and Afia were made for each other, and I wanted them to stay together forever," he told Inside Soap. "As a couple, they were unique. The family appear to reach a turning point in tonight's (March 8) episode, agreeing to a fresh start after their experiences with evil Yusef and the destructive B&B fire. EastEnders' Anthony Moon is left thrilled as his love life finally starts to look up in forthcoming episodes of the soap. Anthony (Matt Lapinskas) has been interested in Amira (Preeya Kalidas) for some time, and he's delighted next week when she invites him to a family lunch at the Masood household. Zainab (Nina Wadia) has organised the meal to cheer up Tamwar (Himesh Patel), who is still refusing to speak to anyone following his release from hospital. Tamwar suffered burns when he raced into the blaze last month, determined to save his wife Afia (Meryl Fernandes) as he thought she was inside. The couple's marriage has recently hit the rocks as Tamwar is furious with Afia for keeping quiet about how his mother Zainab (Nina Wadia) was set on fire by evil Yusef (Ace Bhatti) several years ago.
