China, Il: Adult Swim Animated Series Cancelled, No Season Four

Adult Swim has decided to cancel their animated series China, Il after three seasons. Series creator Brad Neely announced the news to his Twitter followers and wrote, "Update: China, Il is done forever. My other show called TV Sucks lives forever and will air soonish."

China, Il revolves around the "Worst College in America" which is The University of China, Illinois. The school's terrible reputation is celebrated by the faculty and staff who can often be found over-drinking and trying to find ways to avoid teaching. The eclectic voice cast includes Neely, Greta Gerwig, Hulk Hogan, Jeffrey Tambor, Gary Anthony Williams, and Jason Walden.

Adult Swim unveiled its coming slate ahead of next week’s upfront event, including the ironically titled “TV Sucks” from Brad Neely. Turner announced that Adult Swim is expanding its original programming, picking up three series for its upcoming fall slate, including Brad Neely's animated sketch comedy show TV Sucks, joining his other show, China, Il. They're also ordering an as-yet untitled live-action show starring Adam Scott and Jon Daly as pro golfers and a live-action comedy by Jon Glaser (whom you might know best as Councilman Jamm on Parks and Recreation) called Neon Joe, Werewolf Hunter (the title should be self-explanatory: Joe wears neon and hunts werewolves). There will also be special episodes with Robot Chicken DC Comics Special III: Friendship Is Magic, Brett Gelman's Dinner With Friends, and Tim & Eric's Bedtime Stories. They'll be joining a schedule that already includes Rick and Morty, The Eric Andre Show, Childrens Hospital, Black Jesus, and what will be the final season of Aquateen Hunger Force. »
