Jim Ellis(VI)
Jim Ellis was born and raised in Toronto, Ontario Canada. He first got
started line producing for the original "Degrassi" show. Quickly after
that he packed up his bags and moved to LA, where he got hired for the
new sitcom "Saved by the Bell." He met and became friends with Ben
Stiller, and then went on to produce the first "Ben Stiller Show" which
only lasted 6 episodes.
Not long after that, Ellis was hired by NBC as a Junior Executive. After 10 years, Ellis stepped away from NBC, deciding to focus on his own projects.
He became a freelance director/producer for a few years working on a variety of shows. He then moved back to Toronto to produce "Degrassi: The Next Generation."
After producing Degrassi for a number of years Ellis moved back to LA. He became a producer/developer of many shows such as, "Mercy", "Sons of Tuscan", "Outsourced" and "New Girl."
He currently has a deal at ABC Family to produce and develop shows.
