Andy was born as "Bo Anders Peter Svensson" on the 6th June of 1965 in
Bro, in the vicinity of Stockholm, Sweden. His mother Anna-Maria
Andersson was a nurse from Borlänge and his father Bo Eddy Svensson, an
electrical engineer from Gothenbourg. During a a 3 months sales training course
his father had at his new company, the whole family went to the United States in July 1969,
They stayed in Palo Alto (CA), San Francisco, Boston, Toronto & New York.
With 6 years of age, he took his first pictures of the neighbor kids with an old Photo camera of his father. In 1972 his father got a job offered in Switzerland from the American firm he worked for in Stockholm. He went to Primary and High School in Hünenberg, in the Canton of Zug, Switzerland. During High School he started to make short feature films at the age of 14 on Super 8mm Film with a High School Classmate.
In the cellar of his fathers house, he had an Editing- and projection room, where he worked on his film projects. They made 6 Super 8mm short Films and one feature film, which they wrote on the first PC of his father. Andy & David produced, filmed, edited and synchronized their Films. They took part on a couple of Film-Festivals and screenings in Switzerland & Germany. In 1985 they reached the 3rd place at the Youth Film Festival in Zürich, and in 1986 their 8 Min. black and white Slapstick Film "Johnny the Gambler" got broadcast-ed in a youth program on Swiss TV, where they also appeared in the TV-Studio for a brief interview.
After High School he studied architecture draftsman and worked after his apprenticeship another 4 years in the field. In 1984 he started to work on the long feature film "The Hunted" with his class mate. The project became a bit too big for them and ended up edited, but unfinished, because they lacked the sound equipment for a proper Sound mix. He applied for the HFF Film School in Munich, but didn't get a place, so he quit his job in 1990, tramped with backpack and photo- camera around the world in 120 days. Back from his trip with 4800 pictures, he got a job as audiovisual technician in Zürich. In 1991 he produced his first Video about a Dance Ball Event with a Dance Competition in the Latin American Dances. Since Camera jobs seldom came up in his job, he changed field and worked 3 years as Vendor for a Photo-, Radio-TV-shop, as well as in a Computer shop. The Computer shop business wasn't going well and animated him to take a business management course 3 years later, but no direct place to use this education.
Through a one year Audiovisual Assistant course he got a job as Video Operator at Primetime Post- Production for 8 years and then another year at Ultra Images in Zürich. In his free time, he documented Life- Events and presentations. In 2003 he started his own Company "Vision Image Media, Andy Svensson" in Baar (ZG) with some small Video & Film- transfer orders. With time he got more and better freelance jobs to film, edit, copying & DVD-Authoring for documentation purposes.
In 2004 he visited his Tibetan Godchild refugee girl, which he had supported for 12 years in India and filmed in the SOS Tibetan Children's Village Bylakuppe for 2 weeks, as well as 2 more weeks in summer 2005.
In 2007 he got a place to study full time "Film- & TV Producing" at the "New York Film Academy" in Hollywood and had an Internship in Development and Producing at "Maya Pictures". He produced 2 first semester short feature Films for other students, 3 Thesis short Films and a documentary about Alexandru David, a Dancer, Actor & Stuntman, as well as about his Tibetan Godchild in India. Back in Switzerland he released "Border Stories" and some other short Films successfully World Wide at International Film Festivals.
Back in Switzerland, he worked in Zürich as Production Manager on some short Films and in 2016 for the Feature Film: "Der lautlose Schrei" (The silent cry), where he jumped in after some crew had left the Movie. Since some scenes were still missing after 12 more filming days, he assisted the Filmmaker as Production Manager and Producer to organize filming these. He also prepared the Video and sound Data for the Editor of the first rough cut and then edited the 2nd Fine Cut of the Movie himself. Due to some differences with the Filmmaker concerning story and unnecessary length of the movie, the director decided to edit some final scenes himself.
In the meantime he worked at "Spot On Film- Distribution for a year, and at another company distributing Movies to the Swiss Cinemas. Since August 2020 he produced some TV documentaries for a Swiss private TV Channel and edited announcement Trailers for documentaries and feature Films shown at the TV-Channel.
