Summer 2012 is nowhere near as massive as Summer 2011.  But you know, that may be a blessing in disguise.  Summer 2012 still has more than its fair share of films to look forward to, and the big ones are especially noteworthy.  How can a summer with The Avengers, Prometheus, and The Dark Knight Rises Possibly go wrong?  Well, it can't.  So, even though Summer 2012 isn't as over-packed as Summer 2011 one, there's still plenty for film fans to salivate over.  So without further ado, let's get started!  Part Three of Tmp's Prelude to 2012 begins right now!

Summer 2012 is certainly kicking off with a bang.  Releasing everywhere on May 4 is The Avengers, the long awaited superhero film putting all our favorite Marvel characters (minus Spider-Man, Wolverine, Daredevil, and all the ones you Really like) into one team.  The build up for The Avengers has been intense, with over four years and five films of investment, »

Kristen Stewart Says She Cried After Punching Chris Hemsworth

26 December 2011 12:18 AM, PST | Celebrity Mania | See recent Celebrity Mania news »

Kristen Stewart regretted one incident that happened during the filming of her upcoming movie "Snow White and the Huntsman". To South African magazine Fairlady, the Snow White depicter admitted that she literally punched her co-star Chris Hemsworth in a fight sequence, and actually cried after that.

"It literally spun him right around," Stewart revealed. The "On the Road" star furthermore explained why she shed tears after the accident, stating, "I basically knocked him right out of his close up...I'm not proud though. Instantly, tears sprung to my eyes." Regardless what she felt, the scene "will definitely be in the movie," so she claimed.

Directed by Rupert Sanders, "Snow White and the Huntsman" itself follows a story of a fair maiden (Stewart), whose life is threatened by an evil queen (Charlize Theron). The Huntsman (Hemsworth) was dispatched to end the princess' life, but he trained her in the art of war instead of killing her. »

The Hobbit Trailer HD: Bilbo Baggins Meets Gandalf, Gollum

21 December 2011 10:20 AM, PST | Alt Film Guide | See recent Alt Film Guide news »

Peter Jackson's The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, a prequel to The Lord of the Rings trilogy My early, early Oscar 2013 predictions include The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey nominated in the following categories: Best Art Direction, Best Cinematography, and Best Costume Design. Perhaps Best Visual Effects and Best Sound Editing and Mixing as well. I'm not so sure about Best Anything Else just looking at the trailer below. It'll all depend on a) whether director Peter Jackson gets solid reviews for the first part of his film adaptation of J. R. R. Tolkien's novel The Hobbit b) whether The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey delivers business on a par with Jackson's three Lord of the Rings movies: The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring (2001), The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers (2002), and the Best Picture Oscar winner The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King »

More Visual Spectacle In ‘Snow White and the Huntsman’ International Trailer

9 December 2011 11:11 AM, PST | The Film Stage | See recent The Film Stage news »

The internet was collectively shocked when the first trailer for Snow White and the Huntsman trailer landed and it looked to be one of the more entertaining options this summer. The shock continued when Tarsem‘s dueling pic Mirror, Mirror looked to be worse on about every level. Commercials director Rupert Sanders (making his featured debut here) seems to have injected a keen visual style, full of spectacle.

We now have a new international trailer that sells even more of this aspect. It also helps in that area considering that an English-speaker can’t understand anything going on and we’ve only got the visuals to focus on. We get a further glimpse at some of the beach battle action, forest fighting and Kristen Stewart and her apple, as well as Charlize Theron‘s villainous side and Chris Hemsworth in action.
