X Factor Movie Week result: Jake Quickenden goes home

26 October 2014 2:04 PM, PDT | Digital Spy | See recent Digital Spy - TV news news »

Jake Quickenden has been eliminated from The X Factor.

Quickenden faced the sing-off alongside Only The Young, after host Dermot O'Leary announced that they were the bottom two acts of the week.

Quickenden performed 'Red' by Daniel Merriweather, while Only The Young sang a rendition of Abba's 'The Winner Takes It All'.

The judges then had to decide who to save for another week.

Mel B stuck by her act and sent home Only The Young, while Louis wanted to send home Quickenden.

Simon called both sing-offs "horrible" and wanted to eliminate Quickenden. Cheryl sealed his fate by choosing him as well.

Quickenden said: "I feel like I've got a lot more to give, and you never know what's round the corner...I want to say thanks."

Judge Mel said through her tears: "He's just an amazing guy, he's been a pleasure to work with."
