The Lion King‘ remake has finally announced it’s full cast. Based on the announcement, Jon Favreau‘s “live-action” remake of the Disney classic is shaping up to have an absolutely stellar cast. Since pretty much the entire movie in intended shot on a blue screen stage, the casting announcements been few and far between, until now. The film was green-lit in late 2016 and fast tracked in response to the success of ‘The Jungle Book’ and ‘Beauty and the Beast’ at the box office.

The film began shooting in March of this year, and Favreau and co. were quick to cast Donald Glover as Simba and James Earl Jones as Mufasa (reprising his role from the original). The Lion King’s full cast revealed, Beyonce confirmed as Nala

The full cast for Jon Favreau’s live-action take on Disney’s classic The Lion King has been revealed with mega-artist Beyonce being one of the last to join the film. She will play Nala as an adult and shared a photo of the rest of the cast over her Facebook page, while Disney shared via Twitter.

The other actors to join the film are Jd McCrary (Vital Signs), playing Simba as a young cub, and Shahadi Wright Joseph (Hairspray Live) as Young Nala. Wright Joseph also starred in Broadway’s version of The Lion King. Completing the gang at Pride Rock is Captain America: Civil War‘s John Kani as Mufasa’s royal advisor and spiritual guide, Rafiki.

Disney ended the day the only way they know how, with a bombshell. That bombshell comes in the form of the long-awaited release date for Jon Favreau's Live-Action adaptation of The Lion King. Citizens of the United States and Disney fans across the country will see Simba's journey on the big screen on July 19, 2019.

Unfortunately, that's a bit longer than most of us would like, but if it's anything like Favreau's last Disney film, the wait will be well worth it. Favreau's last film was a little diddy called The Jungle Book, which amassed over $966 million. It's understood that The Lion King will follow in that same vein, in terms of production. Beyonce is set to voice Nala in Disney and Jon Favreau’s live-action “The Lion King.”

Beyonce confirmed the role on her Facebook account in a post that contained the rest of the voice cast, which also revealed that Keegan-Michael Key will be playing a hyena named Kamari.

Variety first reported that Beyonce had the offer for the role earlier this year, and now it looks like the deal has closed.

Netflix has announced that it has placed a twenty-episode order for Disenchantment, a new adult animated comedy fantasy series from The Simpsons and Futurama creator Matt Groening.

In Disenchantment, viewers will be whisked away to the crumbling medieval kingdom of Dreamland, where they will follow the misadventures of hard-drinking young princess Bean, her feisty elf companion Elfo, and her personal demon Luci. Along the way, the oddball trio will encounter ogres, sprites, harpies, imps, trolls, walruses, and lots of human fools.

“Ultimately, Disenchantment will be about life and death, love and sex, and how to keep laughing in a world full of suffering and idiots, despite what the elders and wizards and other jerks tell you,” states Groening.

Netflix will soon be able to tout an animated comedy series developed by The Simpsons and Futurama visionary Matt Groening as part of its ever-growing list of original content accolades. The streaming giant has tapped Groening to develop Disenchantment, an adult-aimed, fantasy-themed animated comedy series.

Netflix has given Groening's Disenchantment a 20-episode order, to be released 10 episodes at a time. The series takes place in a medieval kingdom called Dreamland, inhabited by all your favorite Dungeons & Dragons and Warcraft-type concepts such as ogres, sprites, harpies, imps, trolls, and even walruses.
