Akshay Kumar and Aamir Khan Lend Support to Global Action/2015 Campaign

India’s leading global ambassadors comprising A-list actors, actresses, renowned directors, award-winning authors, dignitaries and esteemed public figures came together in an unprecedented show of unity on the 15th of January 2015 to show their support via Twitter and Facebook for the launch of the historic action/2015 campaign. The campaign, billed as one of the biggest global outreach initiatives in history to address world-changing issues of climate change, poverty and inequality, saw a massive outpouring of solidarity from celebrities such as actor Akshay Kumar, who was the first major celebrity to tweet his support for the campaign reaching over 7.2 million Twitter followers and over 14 million users on Facebook. Reflections 2014: Best Films of 2014

The celebrated filmmaker and cartoonist Walt Disney once said, “Of all of our inventions for mass communication, pictures still speak the most universally understood language.” Whatever background or class you belong to, we all love to relish in a Bollywood film now and again. It transports us in to a world we wish we were a part of, as well as exposing us to characters who we can relate to. So has 2014 been a good year for Bollywood? Well let’s just say there were a minority of good films that form part of a pile of disappointments. It’s not been an amazing year for the Hindi film industry, yet we feel that the films which have lived up to our expectations deserve its due recognition. So without further ado, here are the films that have made the final cut!

Directors, they are the driving force behind the movies. They take the words on the page and bring them to life on screen. They guide the actors, they work with the crew, they create the shots, they create the sound and the songs with the music directors and so much more. Every year there are some directors whose work truly stands out and we like to shine the spotlight on them.  So, it’s not strictly a top ten and we have not put them in numerical order as such. Plus there are a few surprise horses, but here are the directors the BollySpice team thought shone through brightest in 2014 and a few personal reasons for why – enjoy!
