Frank Radice is a television industry executive, businessman, musician, and author.
Radice is the Managing Partner of VIDA F.R. Company, a promotion, marketing, media, and consulting firm in New York, Los Angeles, and London.
Radice serves as the Expert-in-Residence at Definition 6, an Atlanta, Georgia based Unified Marketing Agency. He is also the Creative Adviser to Thought Development and ON-AIR Pro In Los Angeles, California; advisor to the Chairman of Red Touch Media in Salt Lake City, Utah; and a consultant to Univision Communications, The Univision Agency, in Miami, Florida.
Radice is a Member of the Directors Guild of America (DGA), The National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences (NARAS), Writer/Member, Broadcast Music Incorporated (BMI), The Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (ATAS), The Songwriters Hall of Fame (SHoF) and on the Executive Advisory Board of Digital Hollywood, the Broadway Walk of Stars, the Williamsburg International Film Festival, Worldwide Fan Clubs and Number 7 Records.
Radice is the former President and Chief Marketing Officer of the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences.
While there, he brought recognition to the creative field of on-air promotion, honoring the genre with national Emmy Award recognition for the first time.
During one of the most challenging economic climates in recent history, he oversaw the deal between NATAS and Associated Television International that kept the Daytime Entertainment Emmy Awards from going off the air for the first time in the history of the event.
Radice received the TV Week Magazine/PROMAX Campaign of Distinction Award in 2007, he was inducted into the PROMAX Hall of Fame in 2004 and named a Brand Builder of the Year by Multichannel News and Broadcasting and Cable Magazine in 2003. Frank is also named in the 60th Diamond Anniversary Edition of Whos Who in America.
Very early in the interactive marketing space, Frank oversaw the creation of a promotional on-line micro site for Where in the World is Matt Lauer? A successful NBC Today Show franchise, which was sold to Hyundai motors under a unique sponsorship agreement.
In addition, Frank was the principal motivator of a business development deal between NBC Universal and Proctor & Gamble that resulted in the launch of Petside.com, a web site specializing in the 50 Billion dollar pet industry.
During his 17 years at NBC, Frank served as Executive Vice President of the NBC Agency, and a senior member of the NBC Marketing Council. He was responsible for the advertising, promotion and marketing of a wide variety of network programs, including all NBC News productions, Saturday Night Live, Late Night with Conan OBrien, and a number of NBC Entertainment specials and Universal Media Studios syndicated programs.
Frank also oversaw the advertising and promotion of MSNBC on cable. In July of 1996, he was the executive in charge of marketing the launch of the network.
In 2005 he oversaw the promotion of the transition between NBC News anchors, Tom Brokaw and Brian Williams, in 2006, the addition of Today show host Meredith Vieira, and in 2007, he oversaw the promotional launch of the 4th hour of "Today."
Radice also coordinated a deal to simulcast the Today Show Summer Concert Series on the Westwood One radio network, and created a 2 disc CD set based on the music series which was sold at retail.
A noted songwriter and composer, Frank co-created the award winning Americas First Family theme, and was Executive Producer of the Emmy nominated Live For Today theme, both for NBCs "Today" show. In 2012 he co-wrote "Aqui Contigo," the theme for KMEX 34, the Los Angeles flagship station for Univision, and in 2013 he co-wrote "Despierta Conmigo," the theme for "Despierta America," on the Univision Network. He is also a Daytime Emmy Nominee for 2006 and 2007 in the category of Original Song Composition.
In 2007 Frank worked with world-renowned music producer, David Foster, and Band from TV with Hugh Laurie and Greg Gruenberg (among other talented musicians and actors) on 2 cuts for the House, MD soundtrack benefiting various charities.
In 2004 he worked closely with Master Composer, John Williams, on the 20th anniversary digital re-recording sessions for the NBC Nightly News theme, The Mission. as well as the themes for NBC News, Meet The Press, and Today on NBC
In 2005, he was senior producer and music director of NBCs Concert for Hurricane Relief which yielded more than 40 million dollars in aid for the victims of Katrina.
Radice also worked on the NBC/Telemundo transition team, assigned to oversee station promotion strategy, and was a key member on the NBC Universal/iVillage integration, and the NBC Universal/Weather Channel integration.
Additionally, he was Co-Executive Producer of NBC In Flight on United Airlines and Co-Executive Producer of NBC on TED for 11 years.
In addition to extensive experience in advertising, promotion, and music, Frank has a lengthy background in news production and journalism.
During his 16 years with ABC News, he was honored with two Alfred I. DuPont-Columbia University Journalism Awards, and two National News & Documentary Emmy Awards.
He was a producer for ABC News, Nightline, ABC World News Tonight, Good Morning America, The Last Word with Phil Donahue and Greg Jackson, and the senior producer of product development ABC News Interactive.
Frank was also the Executive producer of CNN Entertainment News from 1992-1994 and the creator and producer of Live at 5 on WRC-TV, the NBC owned station in Washington, D.C., in 1995.
In 2006, Frank and his wife, Vida, co-wrote "Sam Katz on the Loose." A pop-up childrens book illustrated by Charles Fazzino and published by Random House. The book was also released as a set of childrens puzzles available exclusively at Barnes and Noble, nationwide.
Frank lives with his wife, Vida, and their cat, Sam, in New York and London.
