‘Harley and the Davidsons’ Races to Ratings Highs for Discovery

12 September 2016 12:49 PM, PDT | Variety - TV News | See recent Variety - TV News news »

Discovery miniseries “Harley and the Davidsons” crossed the finish line with an average of 4.4 million viewers across its three nights, once live +3 day viewership is factored in, making the motorcycle drama the most watched single-network cable miniseries in more than three years, since History’s “The Bible.”

According to the cable network, “Harley” was Discovery’s most-watched series ever, excluding documentaries, and the highest rated freshman series among men aged 25-54. The project was the first miniseries commissioned by Rich Ross in his role as Group President for Discovery, Animal Planet and Science, emphasizing a push towards more scripted fare on the traditionally reality-driven network.

“We are really pleased that so many shared the wild ride of ‘Harley and the Davidsons.’ I can’t thank Raw Television and John Goldwyn enough for bringing this story roaring to life,” Ross said.

Charlie Cox thinks Daredevil would be “a perfect fit” alongside The Avengers

We’re just a few hours away from the arrival of Daredevil season two on Netflix, and the Man Without Fear himself Charlie Cox has been speaking to Comic Book about his character, stating that he believes Matt Murdock would be “a perfect fit” alongside The Avengers on the big screen side of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

“Some people have said that they wonder about, based on the tone the show, how Matt would fit in with the Avengers,” states Cox. “I was reading Civil War the other day, and Matt Murdock… is kind of an ass. He’s in the back, standing around grumpy a lot of the time, and every now and again, he just says ‘Well, we’re not doing that’ or something to that effect, and I’m like, ‘That’s the character, we’re fine.’ So tonally, with Matt I think we’re right on »

It seems as though Netflix’s marketing team just can’t get these things right. Last year we weren’t shown the classic red costume until the final episode of the first season of Daredevil, but the marketing team accidentally put it up online the day before the series started.
