Robert de Niro Confirmed for Last Vegas
CBS Films and Good Universe announced today that two-time Oscar-winner Robert De Niro will star in the comedy Last Vegas alongside two-time Oscar-winner Michael Douglas.

Directed by Jon Turteltaub (National Treasure, While You Were Sleeping) from a screenplay by Dan Fogelman (Crazy Stupid Love, Tangled), Last Vegas is a comedy about four old friends who decide to throw a Las Vegas bachelor party for the only one of them who has remained single. De Niro will play the party-averse Paddy Connelly, who reluctantly agrees to fly to Vegas at the request of his friends. Douglas will play Billy Gerson, a lifelong bachelor, who has finally decided to take the plunge.

Neil Cross To Scribe The Day Of The Triffids For Ghost House Pictures

Neil Cross (“Luther., Mama) will write The Day of the Triffids, based on the classic sci-fi horror novel written by John Wyndam and the 1962 film Invasion of the Triffids. The film will be produced by Ghost House Pictures, The Mark Gordon Company, and Preger Entertainment, LLC. Mark Gordon, Michael Preger and Don Murphy are partnering with Ghost House principals Sam Raimi and Rob Tapert to produce. Ghost House principals Nathan Kahane and Joe Drake will executive produce alongside Susan Montford. J.R. Young and Audrey Chon will oversee the project for Ghost House. Drew Simon will supervise the project for The Mark Gordon Company.

Neil Cross created and wrote the highly acclaimed television show “Luther,. which will air its third season on BBC. He was recently named one of Variety’s 10 Screenwriters to Watch for 2012. The Young, the Hot, and the Bothered Gets Set Up at Mandate Pictures
Mandate Pictures announced today that the company has optioned The Young, The Hot, And The Bothered, an original screenplay written by Leah Rachel. The coming-of-age comedy about the delusion, desperation, and absolute euphoria of first loves will be produced by Academy Award winning producer Dan Jinks (Milk, American Beauty, Big Fish). Mandate president Nathan Kahane (Young Adult, 50/50, Juno) will executive produce. Adam Kossack and Adam Shulman of Anonymous Content will co-produce. Nicole Brown, Evp of Production, is overseeing the project on behalf of Mandate Pictures.

Producer Dan Jinks shared, "Leah Rachel, at only 25 years old, is the freshest and funniest writer I've come across in some time. Her script has the potential to become a touchstone movie for a generation like Leah Rachel or Sixteen Candles were years ago."..

Mandate Pictures announced today that Julianne Hough (Footloose) and Russell Brand (Get Him to the Greek) will star in the Untitled Diablo Cody Project. Academy Award winner Diablo Cody will make her feature directorial debut from her original screenplay. Mason Novick ((500) Days of Summer) will produce. Mandate president Nathan Kahane (50/50) will executive produce alongside Diablo Cody. Nicole Brown, Evp of Production, is overseeing the project on behalf of Mandate Pictures. The project is on a fast track for a spring production start. Lionsgate is handling international sales and will present the film as part of their upcoming American Film Market slate.

The comedy follows a sheltered young woman (Hough) who loses her faith after a plane crash and decides to go to Las Vegas to experience the wild side of life. On her journey, she meets an unlikely companion (Brand) who inadvertently helps her find her true self.

Lamb of God Finds a Home at Mandate Pictures
Mandate Pictures has acquired an original screenplay by Diablo Cody, Lamb of God, which will mark her feature directorial debut. Mason Novick ((500) Days of Summer) will produce. Mandate president Nathan Kahane will executive produce alongside Diablo Cody. Mandate has the project on the fast track and will begin casting right away.

The comedy follows a young conservative religious woman who loses her faith after a plane crash, decides to go to Las Vegas to live the life of a sinner, and on her journey finds her way back to her faith.

Kahane said, "Having been in the trenches with Diablo and Mason on Juno and Young Adult, we immediately jumped at the opportunity to partner with them again. It's an honor to be a part of Diablo's transition as a director."

Lamb of God marks the third collaboration with Cody, Novick and Mandate after their successful partnerships on Juno and Young Adult,
