"Twilight" Author Possessed By "The Rook"

According to reports, "Twilight" author Stephenie Meyer will create an hour-long TV series for Hulu, based on a 2012 book of the supernatural:

"...Meyer will produce an adaptation of 'The Rook' by Australian author Daniel O'Malley, following 'Myfanwy Thomas', a woman who attempts to administrate a clandestine government organization responsible for protecting the UK from supernatural threats.

"Following a magically-induced bout of amnesia, she works to uncover the identity of a traitor inside the organization while simultaneously keeping her amnesia a secret..."

After the success of the Twilight film franchise, Stephenie Meyer will be partnering once again with Lionsgate, the studio revealed on its morning call with analysts. The Twilight author will executive-produce The Rook, a new hour-long show for Hulu and a yet-to-be-named British network, which will almost certainly contain between one and one million vampires. Based on Daniel O'Malley's 2012 novel of the same name, The Rook follows the adventures of a female investigator working for a British agency charged with investigating supernatural goings-on, such as — and this is just us spitballing here — a nonstop barrage of hot, sexy vampires. »

"Twilight" Creator Plans Hulu TV Series

Lionsgate is developing "The Rook," a new one-hour TV series with "Twilight" novelist Stephenie Meyer which will play on Hulu and on an unnamed and leading British broadcaster.

Based on the novel by Daniel O'Malley, the story follows a woman with extraordinary powers named Myfanwy Thomas. Thomas who is employed by a mysterious British government agency responsible for defending the UK from supernatural threats.

The announcement deepens the relationship between the studio and Meyer, whose Twilight series has been one of the most successful franchises for the studio.

Lionsgate has been keen on a reboot or continuation of the "Twilight" franchise but so far Meyer, who will executive produce "The Rook," has expressed any interest.
