Sage is an award winning screenwriter / filmmaker; actress; and former Executive at I.F.P (Independent Filmmaker Project/east coast) and Film Independent (west coast).
'Daniella Dares', Sage's screenplay has made it through layers of judging to receive 10X awards/official selection's. The film, 'Ms Cutler', which Sage wrote, directed & produced was an Official Selection for the 2017 Beijing Film Festival. In 2015, Sage was on the GRAMMY ballot for the short film/long form music video 'GDLU', which she produced with GRAMMY Award Winning & Multi Platinum Selling Producer, 'Fanatic'. Sage's podcast interview on 'Your Hollywood Pro' with Jordan Gregory delves into her work and involvement at film organizations, I.F.P. & Film Independent, and her other filmmaking endeavors.
In her youth, Sage, trained as a figure skater. She also played soccer (midfield), baseball (pitcher) and basketball (guard). She was recruited to play college soccer. During high school and university Sage made several trips to Japan for modeling. Upon returning to the US she attended and graduated from the Acting Studio conservatory training program. Sage acted in many independent films that circulated through out the film festival circuit. Sage joined I.F.P, which has chapters in New York and Los Angeles (nka: Film Independent) and through out the United States; I.F.P is the largest and oldest non profit for independent filmmakers providing essential resources, events and programs for indie filmmakers and content creators.
Sage hosted the red carpet for the United Nations 70th Anniversary and is featured in: Malibu Chronicle Magazine for her work with Safe Passage to educate the public about domestic abuse; she appeared in New York Dress blog, OSCAR night. You will always find Sage on both sides of the camera as a red carpet reporter/host for OSCARS "Night of 100 Stars" at the Beverly Hilton Hotel, where she interviewed many iconic performers and city officials: Louis Gossett Jr., Lou Ferrigno, Ed Asner, Trace Adkins, Richard Lewis, Sharon Gless, Gloria Allred, Ron Galperin etc. She also interviewed Lance Bass and his husband, painter, Michael Turchin; EMMY nominated and winning director and writer, Arthur Allen Seidelman; USA Today best selling author, Vanessa Fewings, and many others at the fundraiser for the Friend Movement organization held at the Pacific Design Center in West Hollywood.
During her time at IFP and Film Independent, Sage facilitated the development and progress of many top indie films that have screened and won awards at Cannes, Sundance, Tribeca, Berlinale, Venice etc., and received Independent Spirit Awards & Gotham Awards. Cary Fukunagwa (True Detective, Beasts of No Nation, Bond 25); Dee Rees (Mudbound, Bessie, Pariah); Barry Jenkins (Moonlight, If Beale Street Could Talk); Ryan Coogler (Fruitvale Station, Creed); and Jon M. Chu (Crazy Rich Asians); Richard Linklater (Boyhood, School of Rock) are just a few filmmakers who began their creative careers by having their first films selected to participate in programs at I.F.P and Film Independent.
Sage has produced many events in LA, New York and Miami and is passionate towards helping the community and philanthropic causes. Sage has produced and/or sat on committees for: City Gala, City Summit, Safe Passage, Mi Amor Gala, Maria Suarez Foundation, The Empire State TV Extravaganza, The Victory Day Project and NewFilmmakers LA.
