For a show about some of the 20th-century’s bloodiest murderers, Mindhunter doesn’t have that much blood. Or murder, for that matter.

Golden Globes 2018 Predictions: 10 Nominations We Want to See

Golden Globes 2018 Predictions: 10 Nominations We Want to See
When it comes to predicting Emmy or Oscar nominations, there is a method to the madness.

But the Golden Globe nominations -- split into a bajillion categories and the Hollywood Foreign Press Association's love of all things new and/or A-list -- it is just madness. Which means, until the 2018 Golden Globe noms are announced on Monday at 5:00a.m. Pt, this could be anybody's year.

Here are 10 movie and TV nominations we would love to see...

Movies

1. Wonder Woman: Warner Bros. may have launched an awards season campaign with their eye on the Oscars, but...C'mon. We all loved Wonder Woman, but no one really thinks it will be nominated for Best Picture, right? The Globes seem much more attainable. Yet even with the comedy and drama categories split, Wonder Woman still feels like a longshot for Best Motion Picture, Drama, as does Patty Jenkins for Best Director. But perhaps [link=nm

The Best New Opening Title Sequences of 2017 — IndieWire Critics Survey

The Best New Opening Title Sequences of 2017 — IndieWire Critics Survey
Every week, IndieWire asks a select handful of TV critics two questions and publishes the results on Tuesday. (The answer to the second, “What is the best show currently on TV?” can be found at the end of this post.)

This week’s question: What’s the best opening title sequence for a show premiering in 2017? (And yes, this is an update of the earlier midseason survey.)

Tim Surette (@timsurette), TV.com

I’ll go with “Mindhunter.” There’s a cool juxtaposition of recording equipment used by weirdo FBI profiler Holden Ford (Jonathan Groff) and the corpse of a murdered woman, which just goes to show that Ford kind of looks at both as objects for his own research, instead of, you know, an ex-person who still has actual importance to people. It’s an effective way to get right into his somewhat sociopathic head and is a real treat for people who love pareidolia.

‘Mindhunter’ Visual Effects Video Reveals David Fincher’s Obsessive Attention to Detail — Watch
With Netflix’s “Mindhunter,” David Fincher has proven he can apply the same laser-like storytelling abilities to television as he does to his enigmatic films. Jonathan Groff plays FBI Agent Holden Ford in the period crime drama, who uses criminal psychology methods to get inside the heads of some seriously deranged serial killers. Reviewing the series for IndieWire, Ben Travers called the series “a darkly comic, slyly progressive, and super chatty version of ‘Zodiac.'”

Mindhunter Doesn't Even Show the Tip of the Iceberg When It Comes to the Co-Ed Killer

  • BuzzSugar
Image Source: Netflix One of the most interesting relationships on Mindhunter, Netflix's new psychological thriller, is the one between FBI special agent Holden Ford and incarcerated serial killer Edmund Kemper III (or "sequence killer," as Ford calls him before the term "serial killer" came to be the common vernacular). Interviewing Kemper is the driving force behind Ford's and, later, his partner Bill Tench's push to have the FBI study known serial killers to try to "figure out how crazy thinks." While Ford and Tench are fictional characters based on real-life FBI agents, Kemper is 100 percent a real historical figure. The famed murderer, known as "the Co-Ed Killer," was close with his father and took his parents' divorce extremely hard, as it forced him to be raised by his alcoholic, abusive mother. It was a year later that his killing fetish began, when he killed the family cat at age 10. He
