Warner Bros. Pictures is putting a sequel on the fast track for the upcoming Man of Steel where Zack Snyder returns to direct and David S. Goyer is scripting again. According to Deadline, Christopher Nolan's (The Dark Knight) role as producer won't be as much on a scale as it is here as he's working on other projects as well. Now, the question pops up as to who the villains are for Man of Steel 2 - will it be Doomsday, or perhaps Metallo? Warner Bros. has launched the final “Man of Steel” trailer, just eight days before the U.S. opening, setting the stage for the much-anticipated reboot of the Superman story.
Photos: New “Man of Steel” Images Unveiled
The trailer starts with Superman’s origins on Krypton as Russell Crowe’s Jor-El dispatching the baby Kal-El from his doomed world to Earth, the arrival of the child as Ma Kent (Diane Lane) looks on in astonishment and the young Clark Kent making his way in the world.
The trailer then shows off more than a dozen quick special effects scenes of Henry Cavill’s Superman flying, using X-Ray vision and battling General Zod (Michael Shannon) of Krypton.

Kristin Kreuk is pleased about, and ready for, the imminent return of a certain superhero she knows well. Returning Thursday (April 18) to start the television season's last new airings of her CW series "Beauty and the Beast," the former Lana Lang of "Smallville" is looking forward to "Man of Steel." The Superman reboot -- starring Henry Cavill as Krypton's most famous son -- is slated to arrive in theaters Friday, June 14.

As we showed you yesterday, Man of Steel is featured prominently in Entertainment Weekly's summer movie preview issue, which hits newsstands tomorrow. The magazine spoke with several cast and crew members for the cover story, including producer Charles Roven, who revealed that Man of Steel helps set the tone for the long-awaited Justice League superhero ensemble.
"It's setting the tone for what the movies are going to be like going forwards. In that, Man of Steel is definitely a first step. Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight series was deliberately and smartly positioned as a stand-alone. The world the films lived in was very isolated, without any knowledge of other superheroes. Man of Steel star Henry Cavill is featured on the cover of Entertainment Weekly's Summer Movie Preview issue, which hits newsstands on Friday.
