After reviewing more than 5,000 Twitter submissions to its "Name Sharknado 2" social media contest, the title of Syfy's eagerly anticipated Sharknado sequel is… Sharknado 2: The Second One.
Sharknado 2: The Second One, which will also be produced by The Asylum, hits land July 2014. The movie will be set in New York City.
In the original Sharknado regulars of a beachside bar, including owner Fin (Ian Ziering/"Beverly Hills 90210"), bartender Nova (Cassie Scerbo/"Make It or Break It"), and local drunk George (John Heard/Home Alone), teamed up with Fin’s ex-wife, April (Tara Reid/"Scrubs"), to investigate the ecological nightmare that has sharks swimming through the streets of Los Angeles and falling from the skies.

Here's a great Disney villain rendition of the "Cell Block Tango" number from Chicago. It was done by a talented group of people gathered together by American Idol finalist Todrick Hall. It also stars fellow Idol alums Pia Toscano and Adam Lambert, as well as Broadway star Shoshana Bean, Make it or Break It's Cassie Scerbo, Glee's Amber Riley, So You Think You Can Dance's Blake McGrath, and singer Kimberly Cole. They take on the roles of The Little Mermaid's Ursula, 101 Dalmatians' Cruella De Vil, Snow White's Evil Queen, Sleeping Beauty's Maleficent, Alice in Wonderland's Queen of Hearts, and The Lion King's Scar.
The video was made in the spirit of Halloween, and I've included the original version of "Cell Block Tango" below for comparison.

Ready to have your Halloween costume put to shame? American Idol finalist turned Youtube sensation Todrick Hall gathered together a star studded cast and crew that includes fellow Idol alums Pia Toscano and Adam Lambert, as well as Broadway star Shoshana Bean, Make it or Break It's Cassie Scerbo, Glee's Amber Riley, So You Think You Can Dance's Blake McGrath, and pop singer Kimberly Cole to reimagine "Cell Block Tango" from the hit Broadway show Chicago as performed by Disney villains. It's devilish, delicious and tipped by The Mary Sue. The original song was sung by six alleged murderesses on Death Row in Crookem County Jail awaiting trial. In the darkly funny tune, each one lays out why she was the real victim, not the wretched man she murdered. In the above clip, Hall blends Disney's iconic baddies with fan fiction and some on-point cosplay to weave »
The internet wins big again today because here we have a drop-everything-and-watch-this-right-now mashing of some of Disney's most (dis)favored villains and the "Cell Block Tango" from "Chicago." Yes, really. Happy Tuesday!
See, "American Idol" alum Todrick Hall apparently has a thing for animated classic fairy tales and gathered up a bevy of fellow TV and/or Broadway stars (namely, Adam Lambert, Shoshana Bean, Cassie Scerbo, Amber Riley, Blake McGrath, Kimberly Cole and Pia Toscano) to create this crossover between the familiar musical number about a jail full of murderers and the House of Mouse's very finest baddies just in time for Halloween.
Now we know who the real divas of Disney are.
First up is Cruella de Vil — which, if this is what the studio's new live-action movie on her'll be like, go ahead and count us in — who asked for spots not dots from her henchmen-turned-victims, Jasper and Horace. »

How do you improve on the awesome pile of televised Wtf that was Syfy’s “Sharknado”? Duh — add do something about vampires, of course! And not just any vampires – sea vampires! Which are easily one of the five most awesome varieties of vampires ever. I’m now picturing Syfy’s movie development process as an awesome drunken weekly beach party that climaxes with whoever won at beer pong reaching into a hat full of index cards with horror tropes written on them. They blindly select two cards, then read them aloud to the party and everybody cheers — that’s the new movie! Like these latest two that were just announced today. One is “Vampires” and “Ocean,” while the other is “Tornadoes” and “Rocks.”In Beast of the Bering Sea, Cassie Scerbo (Sharknado) and Jonathan Lipnicki (Jerry Maguire) play a “sister and brother team prospecting for gold, »

While we bow to no one in our devotion to Sharknado, we must acknowledge it suffered a shocking lack of vampires. And zombies. Happily, the company that brought us Sharknado, aptly named The Asylum, has rectified at least part of that situation: Sharknado network Syfy announced today that on Saturday, November 9, it will premiere its new movie about a sister and brother team, prospecting for gold in an underwater cave, who accidentally disturb a colony of blood-sucking amphibious predators, aka sea vampires, who can function on land without having to wait for some freakish weather system to wreak havoc on the area — just dim-witted gold-prospecting siblings. It’s called Beast Of The Bering Sea — presumably Vampnado was taken. Tragically, Jonathan Lipnicki, that cute little kid from Jerry Maguire, plays the brother, and Sharknado’s Cassie Scerbo is returning to Syfy as the sister. Kevin Dobson (Knots Landing) also stars, and »

★★☆☆☆ Every wondered what would happen should a tornado whip up a frenzy of sharks from the ocean and deposit them onto an unsuspecting American public? Well have no fear, as purveyors of Dtv schlock The Asylum have stepped up to answer that question in their imaginatively titled Syfy Channel feature, Sharknado (2013). Swimming with ropey special effects, groan-inducing dialogue and a narrative so ridiculous it makes the title seem run-of-the-mill, it's fun. "We shouldn't be afraid of the sharks. They're the ones that should be afraid of us," claims a snarling sea captain in the film's nefarious shark fishing opening.
The captain, of course, soon meets a grisly end courtesy of hundreds of razor sharp teeth and the action jumps to Los Angeles and an aptly-monickered protagonist, Fin (Ian Ziering); pro surfer and waterfront barman. When the storm, and a wave of black-eyed predators, hits the coast, Fin and a band »

When a freak tornado swamps Los Angeles, thousands of man-eating sharks are sucked into the swirling vortex, terrorizing the waterlogged populace and flooding the city with shark-infested seawater. Surfer and bar-owner Fin (Ziering) sets out with his friends Baz (Simmons) and Nova (Scerbo) to rescue his estranged wife April (Reid) and teenage daughter Claudia from the sharks raining down from the skies. With nature’s deadliest killer ruling sea, land, and air, they soon realise that the best chance they have to survive the deadly shark-infested maelstrom is to find a way to destroy it themselves.
What can I say about Sharknado that hasn’t already been said? A film that caused a social media furore on its Syfy channel debut, this »

Look, I understand there was a lot of hype for Sharknado, but when I watched it, I couldn't wait for it to end. The movie was terrible in every way, and I don't think it even falls into the "so bad, it's good" territory. I didn't like the movie at all, but I know a lot of you did. It made for a great trailer, but that's it. I just think it was a waste.
Now they're making the sequel, which is even more of a waste! It will be called Sharknado 2: The Second One, and it will be released July of 2014.
I just don't like the fact that people are making poorly made movies on purpose. It's like, "Hey! Let's take a few million dollars and make a bad movie on purpose!" That just sounds like a terrible plan, especially when they could »

Last month, Syfy announced that it is letting the fans decide what to call their sequel to Sharknado through a Twitter contest. After delving through more than 5,000 submissions, the network revealed that the sequel will be called Sharknado 2: The Second One.
"Since Twitter played such a huge role in the success of the original movie, we wanted to use that platform to ask our fans to name Sharknado 2. This response is another reminder of how Sharknado has become a pop culture phenomenon. We want to thank all our viewers for their wonderful contributions to keeping up the shark-mentum."
By now everyone had heard about the success of SyFy's hit movie Sharknado, and no one was more confused by the film's success than star Cassie Scerbo. She stopped by our La office to give us all the details on this new cult classic movie and even confessed that she was worried when she first heard the name. This interview is a must for any Sharknado fan. »
