Toccara Jones is defending Tyra Banks from new allegations that producers only paid America's Next Top Model contestants $40 a day. The former contestant, who competed in season three of the reality show, spoke to TMZ about Sarah Hartshorne's recent allegations about her experience in 2007. When it comes to the show's executive producer, Jones said, "There's no canceling Tyra." "This is the modeling world," Toccara said. "[Tyra] didn't create this. She just showed y'all [what it's like] and she became the face of it." Toccara said that criticism of this nature "comes with the territory" of being a high-profile model...

Tyra Banks has found herself in hot water once again over America's Next Top Model. This time, the former judge and executive producer of the long-running competition series has come under fire for allegedly paying contestants $40 a day. On Monday, Nov. 29, Sarah Hartshorne, who competed on the show during 2007's cycle nine, alleged on Twitter that she and the other contestants were given "$40 a day, no residuals, and we had to pay for food." The allegation first erupted on the social media platform after a Twitter user discussed the models' paychecks in a now-viral post. "The fact that girls on Antm were getting paid $40 an...

The magnificent Trevor Donovan has been cast for a guest role on Drop Dead Diva, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Apparently his role involves dropping his pants in the courtroom, which is always a good idea for Donovan’s characters.
Fox president Kevin Reilly said that he sees Glee ending at the end of its sixth season saying, “there’s two very clear arcs to get to that end and conclude.” However, he added he could see the show lasting beyond that if a new breakout star is found.
Whew. Syfy has picked up the third season of Continuum. I don’t have to figure out how to follow it without a U.S. broadcaster.
Brace yourselves, Fox is planning on adapting Broadchurch. From what I’ve heard about the original, that could be a challenge. Besides, I’m having a hard time imagining Fox coming up with casting as exciting as David Tennant,...

Good morning! It's Friday, get happy!
Congrats to the U.S. Women's basketball team for winning their semi-final game against Australia yesterday and to the soccer team for taking the gold. Here's a magic moment between Megan Rapinoe and girlfriend Sarah Walsh, sharing a gold-medal meal. How adorable is it that Sarah is wearing Megan's jersey?

While we're on the topic, Espn wonders why openly gay athletes are still low in numbers. I do, too, because a lot of searches coming to AfterEllen.com lately are wondering if certain Olympians are gay. Inquiring minds need to know!
Rutina Wesley went on The Talk yesterday to discuss playing Tara on True Blood and how her grandma supports even her racy sex scenes.
More Sapphic lesbian sex, we say. Grandma's into it!
Rumor has it Jennifer Lopez...

The one show I watch on the CW is "America's Next Top Model" and I would never admit that in public. Well, what I mean is, I only watch it to make fun of Tyra and the whole idea that anyone who wins her show will be a model anywhere near the top. Ever heard of any of them? Exactly. But, guilty pleasure that it is, there are always a bunch of crazy girls who think they're the shit, someone with a sob story about a broken home and another one crying about how her life will be nothing if she can't be a top model. There's a whole lot of "fierce" posing and arguing while "smizing," as J-1 and J-2 mock and berate the contestants (both behind their backs and to their faces.) Tyra wears bad clothes, strange hair and speaks in her best affected voice as she declares the girls worthy or not.

So, she may be going to Harvard, but Tyra Banks isn't the quickest study. This week on "America's Next Top Model," a second guest judge gave a less than glowing report of Alexandria on-set and Tyra finally realized sanctions must be placed on the Orange County-sized ego.
Before that, she sent Miss J. to do her dirty work in this week's first challenge. Continuing this season's ridiculously made for TV challenges, she sent the girls down a fiery runway. No one literally crashed and burned, but that would've made for one hell of a promo tease.
Dalya, who proclaimed herself the strongest walker, actually made good on her word. By the way, did we mention this episode's theme is confidence?
Hannah, Sarah, and Kasia, the three worst runway walkers, had to hoof it home as their punishment. Overall, this season has some pretty strong walkers, right? Every season has the wobblers,...

I love the smell of an invisible wind machine in the morning.
Top Model is back, you guys! TV just got a little crazier and I could not be happier. The premiere of the 16th cycle of the show was as frenetic and weird as we’ve come to expect, thanks to a few eye opening twists and another Wipeout-esque challenge that wasn’t as inherently dangerous as past debacles.
I felt a little bad about the ultimate fake out Tyra gave the girls in the fast forwarded (for us) “casting special”; I know that the lesson was there (in modeling, you have to get used to rejection), but taking the rug out from the “other” girls was a little mean and seemed to have been done only to produce a raucous reaction from the top 14. In a way, I’m glad that the contestants that got cut weren’t shown finding out the news,...

She's battled cancer and has multiple sclerosis, but no one seems more eager to launch Mitt Romney's next presidential campaign than his wife-maybe not even Mitt.
To hear Mitt Romney tell it, he's still not sure if he wants to run for president. Ann, his wife of 41 years, is not nearly as coy.

"I know Mitt as a person, a very good person. I have also seen him as a leader. And I, for one, would like to see him lead the country as President of the United States," she told the capacity crowd at Cpac on February 11.
Different versions of these words are often heard coming from the mouths of political spouses, whose job it is to be publicly seen as fully behind their partner's candidacies. And since her husband's first run for office in 1994-a quixotic...

I usually don’t ask for a lot for Christmas. Like any self-respecting only child, I had my typical bratty period where I asked for more than I really should have, but for the most part, I have to struggle to fill my Christmas list out each year. This year was no exception, as I really only needed some computer updates, some shoes, a TV season or two, and some odds and ends, but you know what? If I could have asked for anything, I mean anything, I would have submitted this, my TV Christmas list of improvements that some of my shows can make in spring.
V: Pick up the action and answer a few questions
I feel like one of the few people who truly enjoyed V in its interrupted debut season. Granted, it wasn’t as thrilling as it could have been, minus a few truly excellent moments/plotlines,...

The Australia's Next Top Model finale is setting the precedent for what's likely the biggest reality show slip-up ever, as the wrong contestant was dubbed the winner, only to have her title taken away seconds later.Antm host Sarah Murdoch graciously awarded the show's title to 19-year-old contestant Kelsey Martinovich. The only problem was, Kelsey's competitor Amanda Ware was the real winner, causing Sarah to do her best to explain the disaster that just occurred live on television. "Oh my God, I don't know what to say right now," Sarah murmured as she tried to gain her footing. "I'm feeling a bit...

Yeeeeeesh. I don't normally watch Australia's Next Top Model (mainly because American TV is enough for me to handle as-is, and America's Next Top Model is enough models vying to be next on top as-is) but I'm glad someone pointed me toward last night's Australian Top Model finale, because it manages to top even Tyra's most epic awkwardness, and is so second-hand embarrassing that it will turn your heart upside-down and throw it across the planet. (Look! Now your heart is in Australia.)
Before a live studio audience at the finale, Aussie-ntm host Sarah Murdoch announced the wrong winner. Who then gave an acceptance speech. And consoled and hugged the "loser," who gave a consolation speech. And Then Sarah got word in her earpiece that she had announced the wrong winner. Australia's Next Top Whoops! Watch what happened (spoiler alert if you watch this show, duh):...

Anamaria has been sent home, where, one would hope, several cheeseburgers are waiting for her in one big stack. Meantime, we’ve moved on -- already! -- to the makeover show for this cycle. (Scissors. Scissors! Runnnnn!) [Full recap of Wednesday's (Sept. 22) "America's Next Top Model" after the break...] Sara has a baby that she named Caiden (?) and leaving him behind was like, soooooo hard. Sarah is also suffering from a several case of ordinariness of the face. Everybody is just sitting around contemplating this when Tyra arrives in a jaunty menswear ensemble and asks for a tour of the...
