MTB Studio, NY, NY, Scene Study for Camera & Stage (ONGOING) from 2007-present, Mary T. Boyer
MTB Studio does not rely on one philosophy or technique but instead draws on techniques found in the work of: Stanislavsky, Strasberg, Meisner, Morris, Hagen, Adler, and Chekhov. Relaxation techniques for the voice and body are utilized with principles founded in Alexander, Feldenkreis, Yoga, and other disciplines. Each actor learns a unique set of tools that assists him or her in problem solving throughout their career.
But let's not forget that it is a business, too. And as such involves marketing savvy, salesmanship, and networking skills. MTB Studio is on the cutting edge of training today's actor. To meet the demands of the business, actors must be comfortable pursuing their craft in all arenas of the entertainment industry: film, television, stage, industrials, and more.

H.B. Studios, NY, NY, Speech/Voice, Ruth Berkowitz
This is a speaking voice and diction workshop for all levels, background and ages. Students will learn to pronounce clear vowels and diphthongs to enhance the voice and articulate clear, precise consonants to improve intelligibility. Principles of breath control, ear training, rhythm and intonation will be introduced to new students and reviewed by returning students who will be challenged by advanced exerises. These techniques will be applied to the study of General American and Standard English. The flexibility and control needed to master the aformentioned patterns can enable the student to speak with other accents as well. Students will closely study the types of speech most used by actors and public speakers. Every student receives individual attention in every lesson.

About me professionally & personally
MY DAY JOB IS AS A NYC FIREFIGHTER, WHICH ALLOWS ME THE FLEXIBILITY WITHIN MY SCHEDULE TO PURSUE THIS CRAFT. I HAVE STUDIED THE MARTIAL ART OF TAEKWON-DO FOR OVER 20 YRS, WHICH ENABLES ME THE STRENGTH, DISCIPLINE, INTEGRITY & PERSEVERANCE TO CONTINUOUSLY WORK HARD AT MY CAREER AS AN ACTOR. REJECTION DOESN'T PREVENT ME FROM MOVING FORWARD; IT ONLY STRENGTHENS ME TO WORK HARDER & SMARTER. I AM PASSIONATE AND DEDICATED ABOUT MY CRAFT & CAREER. I DON'T BELIEVE IN WAITING FOR my BIG break, I BELIEVE IN CREATING IT!! I HAVE A RESPONSIBILITY IN TELLING A "GOOD STORY". HAVING AN AUDIENCE CONNECT, RELATE & FEEL VARIOUS EMOTIONS AS I TAKE THEM ON MY JOURNEY ARE VERY GRATIFYING FOR ME. TO ME, THAT IS SUCCESS. IF I ACCOMPLISH THAT, THEN I HAVE DONE MY JOB.
I AM A FIRM BELIEVER IN DOING SOMETHING PRODUCTIVE EVERYDAY TOWARDS MY CAREER, SHAKING AS MANY HANDS AS POSSIBLE, ALWAYS MAINTAIN A PROFESSIONAL & POSITIVE ATTITUDE & UNDERSTAND THAT THIS IS A BUSINESS. I AM THE CEO OF MY OWN COMPANY AND SHOULD ALWAYS SHOWCASE MYSELF IN THE BEST POSSIBLE LIGHT.
I HAVE BEEN MEETING AS MANY CD'S AS POSSIBLE TO SHOW THEM MY WORK, PERSONALITY & BUILD RELATIONSHIPS. I UNDERSTAND MY TYPE/PRODUCT AND FOCUS MY TIME, ENERGY & MONEY IN AREAS THAT I AM BEST SUITED FOR IN THIS INDUSTRY.
I RECENTLY REGISTERED THE TREATMENT FOR MY FULL-LENGTH SCREENPLAY ENTITLED "FORBIDDEN", WHICH IS BASED ON A TRUE STORY. IT'S COMPELLING SUBJECT MATTER IS VERY RELEVANT TO TODAY'S WORLD AND WILL PROVOKE THOUGHT WORLWIDE.
AND SOON, I WILL BE WRITING, PRODUCING, DIRECTING AND STARRING IN A DOCUMENTARY STYLE SHORT THAT I WILL LOOK TO PITCH TO VARIOUS NETWORKS, ESPECIALLY HBO.
LASTLY, I NOT ONLY ENJOY BEING A PART OF PROJECTS THAT HAVE IMPORTANT MESSAGES THAT NEED TO CREATE AWARENESS TO THE PUBLIC BUT ALSO FEEL A NEED TO GET INVOLED AS A HUMAN BEING. I BELIEVE IT IS MY DUTY TO HELP ANYONE I CAN THAT MAYBE CAN'T HELP THEMSELF, DO NOT KNOW WHERE TO GO FOR HELP OR SIMPLY DO NOT HAVE THE ABILITY FOR THEIR VOICE TO BE HEARD FOR REASONS BEYOND THEIR CONTROL.
