- In 2002, Laborde's acting career began when Sherrie Spillane , L.A. talent agent, signed her as a client. Laborde received her SAG card when she was in her mid-90s.
- She was best known for her appearances on Talkshow with Spike Feresten as well as portraying Gladys on It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia.
- On Saturday, February 21, 2009, at 99 years old, she was awarded an honorary DTV converter box on Feresten's show in recognition of a comedy sketch she appeared in parodying the difficulties of installing a DTV converter box.
- Her acting career was started by a 2002 Los Angeles Times story, when columnist Steve Lopez, her former neighbor, decided to seek her out for some lighthearted driving tips. In those days she was well known around Santa Monica as the little old lady who barreled up and down her neighborhood's hilly streets and across the freeways in a gigantic 1977 Oldsmobile Delta 88.
- She worked throughout her life, including a stint as bookkeeper for Lawrence Welk.
- After graduating from business college in her early 20's she came to Los Angeles. She was active in the PTA and as a Girl Scout leader, and worked at Henshey's Department store.

- She's also been a cheerleader on ESPN, appeared in a Lexus commercial, had a recurring role on Spike Feresten's "Talkshow" and had a role in a JP Morgan Chase Bank commercial.
- Born in 1909 to Armenian parents Paul and Fereday Shamlian, in Fresno, Laborde arrived in Los Angeles at the height of the Great Depression.
- In 2006 she appeared as Rosemary in the stoner horror film Evil Bong; ironically she appears in a behind-the-scenes interview expressing disapproval of cannabis use.
- She was an American television and film actress, who began her career at the age of 93 and who was active until her death at age 102.
