To no great surprise, fans of ABC's Life on Mars are quite upset that the network has decided to kill the series after only 17 episodes. Granted, the early ratings weren't that great but the network didn't help matters either. Will viewers be given closure or will they and Sam Tyler be left stranded forever in the 1970s?

Life on Mars, a remake of the popular UK series, revolves around a modern-day detective (Jason O'Mara) who is somehow transported back to 1973. He manages to acclimate himself but is stymied as to the how and why of his situation. The series also features Michael Imperioli, Gretchen Mol, Harvey Keitel, Jonathan Murphy, Dominick Mancino, John Cenatiempo, Chris Miskiewicz, Tom Stratford, Matthew Cowles, and Tanya Fischer.

To no great surprise, ABC has opted not to order a second season of their Wednesday night drama, Life on Mars. The show was one of the most anticipated of the season. So, what happened? Will viewers be left hanging or will the show's mysteries be resolved?

A remake of a UK show of the same name, Life on Mars follows Sam Tyler (Jason O'Mara) , a modern-day NYPD detective who's investigating the abduction of his girlfriend (Lisa Bonet) by a serial killer. After being hit by a speeding car, Tyler wakes up in 1973. While trying to figure out what's happened to him, he ends up becoming part of his precinct in the past. Is he in a coma, insane, or a true time traveler? The stand-out cast includes Michael Imperioli, Gretchen Mol, Harvey Keitel, Jonathan Murphy, Dominick Mancino, John Cenatiempo, Chris Miskiewicz, Tom Stratford, Matthew Cowles, and Tanya Fischer.

Based on a UK show of the same name, Life on Mars was one of ABC's most anticipated new TV series of Fall 2008. It got off to a great start in the ratings but how do things stand now? Will Lost help or hurt?

Life on Mars follows the life of modern-day NYPD detective Sam Tyler (Jason O'Mara) after he's been hit by a car. Things are very different than what he remembers and he finally realizes he's somehow been transported to 1973. He starts to help the officers solve a murder that has strange similarities to a case that he was investigating in 2008. Is he sick, mad, or a time traveler?
