George Cummings was born on July 28, 1938 in Meridian, Mississippi, USA. He is an actor, known for The Midnight Special (1972), Musikladen (1972) and The David Frost Show (1969).

Trivia (4)

Founding member of Dr. Hook and the Medicine Show. He came up with their name.
His distinctive steel guitar and deep vocals can be heard on the first 5 Dr. Hook albums. He sings lead vocals on 'Makin' It Natural', 'Penicillin Peny' and 'I Got Stoned And I Missed It'. After George left Dr. Hook the band was never the same again because session musicians were used on their albums (unlike pre-1975).
Enjoys cooking.
Recorded a solo album, called 'Hey Boogie Woogie' in 2002.
