Sean Connors was born Shawn Paul Richmond in Houston, TX on November 1st, 1967. Currently, he is serving as an executive producer and actor for several current and upcoming independent feature film projects. He has also been an actor, spokesperson, and model for various smaller projects developed for stage, TV, Internet, and print media. He is the CEO of Sean Connors Films, Ltd.
Prior to entering the field of entertainment, he retired from a distinguished career as a business entrepreneur, having created several new successful ventures in various technological fields. Since 1991, he established, built, and sold three high-tech businesses focused on corporate computing infrastructure and supporting enterprise software. Connors has extensive experience raising and managing private capital and continues to invest in and advise various startups and other private equity ventures. His current interests are focused on the creation, production, and distribution of entertainment content for film, TV, and Internet delivery. Personal interests include film acting, commercial modeling, and videography.
In January 2003, he sold Prentice Technologies, Inc., an outsourcing firm offering enterprise applications infrastructure, including J.D. Edwards ERP software. He founded the firm in January 1996 and served as its President and Chief Executive Officer until the sale was completed. Concurrent with his role at Prentice, from March to December 1999, Connors also served as an executive officer of Telecom Wireless Corporation, a publicly traded consolidator of various types of technology service providers. His role included negotiating mergers and acquisitions, preparing SEC documents, and dealing with the firm's investment bankers, attorneys, and accountants.
Prior to founding Prentice, from January 1994 to December 1995, Connors was the founder and Managing Partner of The Enterprise Systems Group, which was acquired by Prentice in January 1999. He was a founder of Network Systems Engineering in Houston, Texas, where he served as a member of the board of directors from March 1991 to August 1994. He filled various senior management roles during his tenure, including serving as the firm's Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer. He was also the principal founder of The American Association of Independent Consultants. He is an accomplished public speaker with experience addressing audiences ranging in size from 10 to 2,000 people.
Throughout his career, Connors has served as a consultant to a broad base of Fortune 1000 companies throughout the Americas and Europe. He is credited with numerous corporate network designs and implementations, including such notables as NASA, Exxon, AT&T Broadband, Hitachi, and Enron. Prior to entering the field of corporate consulting, he served as a contract network analyst as well as in various programming and system management roles for the NASA Johnson Space Center in Houston from May 1987 to March 1991. As a founding member of the space center's Network Emergency Response Team, he provided consultation to NASA division chiefs regarding network design and security. Connors has authored numerous technical white papers and reports within both government and commercial environments.
At NASA, Connors served as one of the government's first "cyber cops", responsible for tracking Internet hackers. Prior to entering the field of networking and IT infrastructure, Mr. Connors was an accomplished programmer. His programming career is highlighted by a major government project in which he contributed substantially in the development of an orbital debris simulation system for the Space Shuttle. He is listed in the International Who's Who of Information Technology and is a salutatorian graduate of Texas State University School of Science with a BS degree in computer science.
