On Tuesday night, MSNBC's Rachel Maddow came close to Fox News' Sean Hannity at 9 p.m., with just around 19k short in demo. In total viewers, the gap was much more significant with Hannity almost doubling Maddow's viewers. Over at CNN, Piers Morgan drew in a meager 39k at 9 p.m. in demo, while Erin Burnett fared better than she has recently with 103k in demo. »

On Tuesday night, CNN's 5 to 8pm programming block all fell below 100,000 viewers in the demo. Most notably, Erin Burnett's OutFront plunged to only 46,000 in the demo. While it was mostly a bad night for the network, those looking for any semblance of a silver lining can look no further than the 11pm hour when Burnett managed to beat Ed Schultz's The Ed Show in the demo, 145,000 to 111,000. »

CNN just had their lowest ratings in a decade. They are in disastrous shape. When I was on MSNBC, we would beat them with a stick. Even after "pro-cnn" stories like revolutions in Egypt and Libya, Japanese nuclear meltdowns and the killing of Osama bin Laden (CNN does much better when major news or international stories break out), we still beat them. Now they're doing so poorly I might even catch them on Current.
We started at almost nothing on Current, but we have been steadily improving our numbers. Why are we getting traction? Because people want an alternative -- the real news. So, I should just stay quiet and let CNN drive off that cliff. By the way, when I catch Erin Burnett -- which is not that far off because I'm beginning to see her in the distance in the demos -- everyone will know it. Who knows, »

On OutFront Thursday, a giggly Erin Burnett got into the stoner spirit a wee early for a segment about Cu Boulder's 4/20 Smoke Out. Burnett briefly flubbed her lines, apologizing glazedly. "Sorry, it's as if I was on some sort of a drug," Burnett joked, clearly far from high. Reporter Jim Spellman was on the front lines of the "chronic Mecca," Norlin Quad, where thousands of pot-heads were expected to celebrate, taking note of the fact that fish fertilizer, of all things, would be used as a deterrent to the puff-puff-passers. »

On her show Tuesday night, Erin Burnett spoke to Rev. Cl Bryant (former NAACP president) and CNN analyst Roland Martin about Bryant's criticism of Rev. Al Sharpton and Rev. Jesse Jackson — and their involvement in the Trayvon Martin case. Martin told Bryant to let him know when he goes to Chicago to address black-on-black violence, instead of just criticizing others. Accepting the challenge, Bryant said, "I throw down the gauntlet tonight." »

On Thursday night's edition of Current TV's The Young Turks, host Cenk Uygur blasted CNN's Erin Burnett (again) in a segment called "Sh*t Erin Says," accusing the OutFront host of "right-wing talking points and scaring retired people" during an interview with Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse (D-ri). At issue was Burnett's suggestion that an increase in taxes on capital gains and dividends would hurt retirees, when such income is overwhelmingly made by millionaires. »

Current TV sent the rewind for tonight's "The Young Turks with Cenk Uygur" on January 19th. Sh*t Erin Says: Is Burnett running for office in Wisconsin, or did she just steal their talking points? Wisconsin Lt. Gov. Rebecca Kleefisch is running ads about how the recall of top elected officials there is too expensive for taxpayers. That's ridiculous enough -- but wait until you see Erin Burnett's "OutFront" segment on CNN with almost the exact same language.
