Breaking Dawn Part 2 poster: Taylor Lautner as Jacob Black Taylor Lautner returns as the shapeshifter / werewolf Jacob Black in one of three The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2 character posters released earlier today. The other two Breaking Dawn Part 2 posters star red-eyed newborn vampire Kristen Stewart and golden-eyed centenarian vampire Robert Pattinson. Since vampires are immortal, all three posters feature the tagline "Forever." Now, I don’t think werewolves live forever. Jacob’s poster should read "For now," especially considering how his affections shift from Bella to another key character in Breaking Dawn Part 2. Directed by Kinsey / Dreamgirls‘ Bill Condon from a screenplay by Melissa Rosenberg (based on Stephenie Meyer’s novel), Breaking Dawn 2 is the final installment in the Twilight Saga film series. [Check out the Breaking Dawn 2 teaser poster.] In Breaking Dawn Part 2, Edward Cullen and his newborn-vampire wife Bella Swan-Cullen (Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart) must stand their ground against the ancient Volturi Clan (Michael Sheen, »

Cannes Film Festival movie review: In Variety, Justin Chang says the following about Walter Salles‘ On the Road, a film adaptation of Jack Kerouac‘s 1957 novel starring Garrett Hedlund (Dean Moriarty / Neal Cassady), Sam Riley (Sal Paradise / Jack Kerouac’s alter ego), and Kristen Stewart (photo, as Marylou / LouAnne Henderson): "Evocatively lensed, skillfully made and duly attentive to the mercurial qualities of its daunting source material, Walter Salles’ picture pulses with youthful energy but feels overly calculated in its bid for spontaneity, attesting to the difficulty and perhaps futility of trying to reproduce Kerouac’s literary lightning onscreen. "… The blur of events and surface impressions onscreen … feels overlong at 139 minutes, yet nowhere near long enough, and even Riley’s appealing, bright-eyed turn can’t keep Sal from seeming a passive, psychologically weak protagonist. "The other actors hit their notes effectively, particularly [Viggo] Mortensen and [Tom] Sturridge as the respective alter egos »

On the Road: Kristen Stewart as Marylou, Sam Riley‘s / Sal Paradise’s ear "I just had a great idea, you guys are gonna love it!" exclaims Garrett Hedlund‘s Dean Moriarty at the end of this French-subtitled On the Road clip. (Please scroll down to check out Sur la route.) Also seen in the clip are Kristen Stewart‘s Marylou and Sam Riley‘s Sal Paradise. Walter Salles directed this year’s Cannes Film Festival’s Palme d’Or contender. Kristen Stewart is the focus of this particular On the Road clip, as Marylou is apparently telling Sal that she’s going to dump Dean. She sounds a bit like a fatalist: better dump Dean before he dumps her. In any case, she’s already got a fiance at home, a sailor. Marylou also sounds like a traditionalist here: she wants a house and a baby, "something normal. »

And in this case, we wouldn’t be doing On the Road right, unless it was found, unless so much of it was, like, learned and then forgotten, so we could actually just discover it ourselves." Kristen Stewart tumbled? Life imitates art once again. At the end of Twilight, Bella Swan goes to the prom wearing a cast. In order to dance, she must climb on top of Edward Cullen’s feet, so he can sway to the music for both of them. Well, it turns out that Bella herself, Kristen Stewart, has hurt her foot while working on The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2 reshoots, or "pickup shots" or "additional shots" or whatever you want to call them. On Friday, Stewart told The Tonight Show’s Jay Leno that the additional work on Breaking Dawn 2, which took place in Vancouver this past week, was mostly focused on the hunting sequences in the beginning of the film. Bella’s hunting scenes to be exact. (Please scroll down to watch the Kristen Stewart / Jay Leno video.) Remember, Bella was transformed into a vampire at the end of »

Robert Pattinson: Breaking Dawn 2 "reshoots" Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, and Michael Sheen are back in Vancouver for the Breaking Dawn – Part 2 "reshoots" — or rather, "pickup shots." A couple of weeks ago, Breaking Dawn director Bill Condon announced that he, Pattinson, Stewart, and cinematographer Guillermo Navarro would be heading back to Vancouver to work for a few days on a handful of shots. (Inevitably, there are already Twitter stories claiming that Pattinson’s bodyguard assaulted a couple of people upon Pattinson’s arrival.) Bill Condon’s companion, Jack Morrissey, later explained that Condon had not been responsible for the missing (or mismatched) footage, placing the blame on Breaking Dawn 2’s second-unit crew. "The coming additional photography is stuff that was conceived, developed, and was to be executed by the second unit during the period of principal photography," Morrissey told his podcast listeners. "For various reasons, it was not executed by the second unit … So, »

Actors Jamie Campbell Bower and Frances Barber were caught up in a terrifying siege in London on Friday.
Cops shut down bustling Tottenham Court Road in central London and evacuated offices and shops when a man claiming to have a bomb reportedly took four people hostage following a dispute over a haulage licence.
Nearby streets were cleared of passers-by as computers and debris began to rain down from the fifth-floor office where the siege was taking place - and Twilight star Campbell Bower and veteran theatre actress Barber were among those caught up in the drama.
In a series of posts on Twitter.com, Barber wrote, "F**k a duck am in middle of hostage sitch (situation) in Tott. ct. Road. Can't get out. We are all hostage inside. I mean I am not in The office, but another. All cordoned off. Apparently some lorry driver who failed his Hgv (haulage) licence? Gone in to office with big canisters. Police won't let us out.
"Tott ct rd deserted. All shops, cafes, etc evacuated. Police everywhere. We are not allowed out. To clarify I am Not in The office. Just trapped in an office nearby. Police won't let us out... (They said) that we have to stay inside. Tried to leave but they won't let us."
Campbell Bower adds, "At Tcr. Just saw what looked like more office equipment coming from window. Police line stopped me from getting closer."
The siege ended after approximately three hours. A 50-year-old man was arrested. »

Taylor Lautner, Breaking Dawn 2 Taylor Lautner’s Jacob Black — not shirtless, sorry — gives you The (Were)Wolf Look in this The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2 photo released earlier today. Another just-released Breaking Dawn 2 image shows Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson’s Edward Cullen and Bella Swan-Cullen wearing vampire contacts while looking into the distance. In Catherine Hardwicke’s Twilight, Lautner had a minor supporting role as a teenager infatuated with Bella Swan (then still a human). He became a full-fledged leading man in Chris Weitz’s The Twilight Saga: New Moon and David Slade’s The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, in which he and Pattinson’s vampire fight for Bella’s hand, body, love, and life. (It’s really all that.) In Breaking Dawn 2, things are different because Bella is no longer human. As a vampire, she’s out of Jacob’s reach; but then again, he seems to have lost interest. »

Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, Breaking Dawn 2 Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson, both sporting what looks like golden contacts, are seen in one of the two The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2 photos released earlier today. [Check out the Breaking Dawn 2 teaser poster.] The other one features Taylor Lautner sporting a black shirt but no contacts. Directed by Kinsey / Dreamgirls‘ Bill Condon from a screenplay by Melissa Rosenberg (based on Stephenie Meyer’s bestselling novel), Breaking Dawn 2 is the final installment of the Twilight movie series. In Breaking Dawn 2, Bella Swan-Cullen (Stewart) has become a vampire. Her husband, Edward Cullen (Pattinson), has been a vampire for a long time; something like nine decades or so. But if you’re a vampire you don’t grow old, you don’t become impotent, and that means you can still procreate. The result of all those evolutionary traits is Renesmee (Mackenzie Foy), a hybrid human-vampire baby who, like so many creatures »

Breaking Dawn 2 teaser poster The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2's teaser poster is the blue version of The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1's teaser poster. It's easy to see why Summit Entertainment (now part of Lionsgate) opted to have the red version for Breaking Dawn 1 and the blue one for Breaking Dawn 2. Had it been the other way around, people might think they were looking at the teaser poster for Dan Bradley / Chris Hemsworth / Josh Hutcherson's Red Dawn, which also opens next November — but that features nasty North Korean soldiers instead of nasty European vampires. Those with a good eye will notice another difference in the Breaking Dawn 2 poster: But it's in Italian! Is that because of the Volturi? No, silly. For starters, the poster is in Spanish. And no, it's not in honor of some ancient Mexican or Chilean vampire. It's merely a marketing-savvy approach to »

Kristen Stewart as the vampire Bella Swan, Breaking Dawn Part 2 The previously announced The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2 "reshoots" should actually be called "additional photography" or "pickup shots," according to Jack Morrissey, director Bill Condon's companion. (One site explains: "Condon is openly guy [sic].") In the Twilight Examiner, Amanda Bell has transcribed much of a Morrissey podcast on the upcoming Breaking Dawn 2 shoot. Among the key points discussed by Morrissey is that filming — involving Condon, Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, and Michael Sheen (who plays one of the Volturi vampires) — should take place in Vancouver within the next two weeks and that this additional work should last about four days. Morrissey adds that the issue wasn't anything done — or not done — by Condon ("Nothing that he directed has been reshot or will be reshot…"), placing the blame squarely on the second unit crew. "The coming additional photography is stuff that was conceived, »

With "The Hunger Games" killing everything in its sights at the box office, Sony has decided to get serious about its adaptation of "The Mortal Instruments," which has the potential to become a "Twilight"/"The Hunger Games"-esque franchise, but perhaps even bigger. Or, at least, longer. Like the other aforementioned franchises, "The Mortal Instruments" is based on a series of novels targeted at young adults, though, unlike those other franchises, author Cassandra Clare has six volumes planned compared to four for "Twilight" and three for "The Hunger Games." Like a Stephen King for the Ya set, Clare has been cranking out a new "Mortal Instruments" volume once a year since 2007, and somehow found time to simultaneously write two books for the prequel trilogy series "The Infernal Devices." And, finally, Sony is set to make them into movies.
Given the wealth of material Clare has provided, it seemed strange that »

Watching progress on the film adaptation of Cassandra Clare's "The Mortal Instruments" has been giving us a slight case of whiplash, but lately things have started to look up for the project and now a release date for the picture has been announced as August 23, 2013.
Go ahead, mark your calendars. We'll wait.
Less than two months ago, a studio scramble began when Sony's Screen Gems dropped their option for the film, sending "Mortal Instruments" fans into a tizzy, but now Sony's back on board for the movie and looks to have it in theaters just a year after the announced shooting start date.
Both Lily Collins and Jamie Campbell Bower are still in the picture, set to portray leads Clary Fray and Jace Wayland respectively, and Cassandra Clare teased fans that she, Collins, and the new director, Harald Zwart, have someone in mind for the third major series character Simon. »
