The fashion of the time is changed. TNT has ordered the Will TV show to series. Will is an unconventional drama about the early life of William Shakespeare, played by newcomer Laurie Davidson (pictured above). Will will launch in 2017.

The first season of Will contains 10 hour-long episodes. The Will TV series cast also includes: Olivia DeJonge, Colm Meaney, Mattias Inwood, Jamie Campbell Bower, and Ewen Bremner.

TNT Teases Young Shakespeare Series "Will"

TNT is falling for the Bard as the basic cable channel has picked up "Will," a young William Shakespeare drama, to series. Ahead of its upfront presentation, the network announced that "Will" has scored a ten episode order and have released a trailer for the series which you can see below.

Laurie Davidson, a complete newcomer with no IMDb credits at this point, stars in the series as the poet who arrives onto the punk-rock theater scene in 16th century London. Olivia DeJonge, Colm Meaney, Mattias Inwood, Jamie Campbell Bower and Ewen Bremner co-star.

Billed as a contemporary version of Shakespeare's life that is played to a modern soundtrack, the project is penned by Baz Luhrmann's scripting collaborator Craig Pearce and directed by "Elizabeth" helmer Shekhar Kapur.

TNT’s literary stock is on the rise.

The cabler has handed a series order to Will, “a period drama told in contemporary style” about the exploits of a young William Shakespeare (starring newcomer Laurie Davidson in the title role).

TNT has given a series order to “Will,” a drama about the exploits of young William Shakespeare, the network announced Tuesday. The network also has cast Niecy Nash (“Scream Queens”) in the Rashida Jones-produced drama pilot “Claws,” and has ordered another drama pilot, “Civil,” about a second U.S. Civil War.

A period drama told in a contemporary style, “Will” stars newcomer Laurie Davidson alongside Olivia DeJonge (“The Visit,” “Hiding”), Colm Meaney (“Star Trek: Deep Space Nine,” “Hell on Wheels”), Mattias Inwood (“The Shanara Chronicles”), Jamie Campbell Bower (“Sweeney Todd,” “The Twilight Saga”) and Ewen Bremner (“Transporting,” “Snowpiercer”). TNT ordered a pilot for the series in January. Craig Pearce (“The Great Gatsby”), “Shekhar Kapur” (Elizabeth), Alison Owen (“Elizabeth”), Debra Hayward (“Love Actually”), Vince Gerardis (“Jumper”), Howard Braunstein (“The Informant!”) and Louise Rosager serve as executive producers.
