Winkler, Driver Team For "Coward"

Adam Driver ("Girls") has signed on to play the lead role in the period comedy "Coward" at Big Beach.

Set in 18th century England, Driver plays a nobleman who hails from a family with a track record of men who came out on the losing end of to-the-death duels.

When he is challenged to trade pistol shots, he panics and hires a common criminal to take his place. Trouble is that criminal steals his employer’s identity.

Max Winkler helms from a script by Matt Spicer, based on a play by Nick Jones. Peter Saraf, Marc Turtletaub, Ravi Nandan and Scott Armstrong are producing

Adam Driver Going From Lena Dunham’s Cad Boyfriend In ‘Girls’ To Indie Pic ‘Coward’

Exclusive: In his first film lead since his breakout turn in the HBO series Girls, Adam Driver has signed on to play the lead role in Coward, a period comedy feature that will be directed by Max Winkler. Winkler wrote the script with Matt Spicer, based on a play by Nick Jones that was produced for Lincoln Center’s LCT3. Big Beach is financing. The comedy takes place in 18th century England and is considered a match between Barry Lyndon and Trading Places. Driver plays Lucidus, a nobleman who hails from a family with a track record of men who came out on the losing end of to-the-death duels. When Lucidus is challenged to trade pistol shots, he panics and hires a common criminal to take his place in the duel. Trouble is, that criminal decides the life of a nobleman is a step up and he steals his employer’s identity. »

SAG Awards: ‘Skyfall’, ‘Game Of Thrones’ Win Best Film, TV Stunt Ensemble

Stunt teams from Skyfall and Game of Thrones have won this year’s SAG Award for Outstanding Action Performances by Film and Television Stunt Ensembles. SAG Awards Committee Chair JoBeth Williams and committee member Scott Bakula announced the award from the red carpet at the 19th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards and were webcast on tntdrama.com, tbs.com and People.com which will be streaming until 5 Pm Pt / 8 Pm Et. The Stunt Ensemble Honors recognize recognize stunt performers and coordinators. Nominees were chosen by their film and television nominating committees and were announced December 12, 2012. 'Skyfall,' 'Game of Thrones' Receive Stunt Honors at SAG Awards

The stunt performers and coordinators behind the film Skyfall and the TV series Game of Thrones have been named the recipients of the Screen Actors Guild Awards Outstanding Action Performances by Film and Television Stunt Ensembles. The two awards were announced by  SAG Awards committee chair JoBeth Williams and Awards committee member Scott Bakula.
