Just before the twins were born, Angelina explained the origins of Shiloh's name. "Shiloh Baptist" was the name Angelina's parents (Marcheline Bertrand and Jon Voight) intended to give their first child. Sadly, Marcheline miscarried the baby. However, Angelina ended up loving the name, and even used it as an assumed name when staying at hotels on a few occasions! Thus, she and Brad chose "Shiloh" as their second daughter's first name. Shiloh's middle name is thought to be in honor of architect Jean Nouvel, a favorite of Brad's.
