Jonathan Shih, an American-born Chinese, studied history and film at the University of Southern California. Jonathan worked extensively at various studios and talent agencies, including Fox Searchlight Pictures, Sony Pictures, DreamWorks Pictures, and Kazarian and Spencer, in order to gain as much knowledge before deciding to leave USC his last semester in lieu of producing feature films in China and other parts of Asia. Along with Wellington Sun, Daniel Wei, and Matt Eskandari, The Gauntlet (Game of Assassins) was one of the first hollywood horror films to be financed and produced in China. The producers of the film received much media attention as being the youngest active producers at the age of 21 to produce a international co-production. The film was later acquired and distributed by LionsGate and Grindstone. The group also produced Victim, which was acquired and distributed by IFC, and other award-winning short films and television pilots.

Other than film, Jonathan has been interviewed and a speaker at multiple conventions and symposiums.
