6 July 2017 12:59 PM, PDT | The Hollywood News | See recent The Hollywood News news »

We’re please to bring you the first The Ritual trailer. The upcoming film follows a group of college who friends reunite for a trip to the forest, but encounter a menacing presence in the woods that’s stalking them. It’s a brand new horror movie coming to screens later in the year, and you can take a look at the first promo below.

If the name and the premise sound familiar, it’s because The Ritual is based on the novel of the same name, written by Adam Nevill. If you haven’t read it, it’s a corker and this trailer points to a rather faithful adaptation.

The Ritual stars Rafe Spall (The Bfg, The Big Short), Robert James Collier (Downton Abbey), Arsher Ali (The Missing, Line of Duty) and Sam Troughton (Robin Hood). It is directed by David Bruckner (V/H/S), The Ritual will be »

New Trailer For Horror ‘The Ritual’ From ‘V/H/S’ Director David Bruckner Starring Rafe Spall

6 July 2017 7:19 AM, PDT | The Playlist | See recent The Playlist news »

The standard rules for horror films are pretty simple, and mostly involve staying away from creepy places. Of course, those rules are routinely broken, which leads to all kinds of terror. And if we know anything from horror films, it’s this — stay away from the creepy forest. Of course, no one in “The Ritual” heeds that advice.

The new movie from David Bruckner (“V/H/S,” “Southbound“) stars Rafe Spall, Robert James-Collier, Arsher Ali and Sam Troughton, and follows four pals who go on a hiking trip, and decide to take a shortcut.

Rafe Spall stars in debut trailer for The Ritual

Author: Zehra Phelan

Mixing up a bit of witty banter with terrifying scenes, the debut trailer for The Signal’s David Bruckner’s next project, The Ritual, has landed.

Starring Rafe Spall (The Big Short, Life of Pi), Robert James-Collier (Downton Abbey, Spike Island), Arsher Ali (Line of Duty, Four Lions) and Sam Troughton (Robin Hood, Alien vs. Predator), The Ritual tells the story of a group of friends who take on a hiking holiday in honour of a friend who was murdered at the hands of a criminal. What lays ahead of them in a remote Scandinavian forest proves it might not have been the best idea they’ve ever had.

The trailer begins with the two friends in conversation before Rafe Spall dips behind the shelving of a shop in the midsts of a violent robbery. With his friend dying at the hands of one of the robbers, »

Wednesday’s best TV: Ackley Bridge, Eat Well for Less, Horizon: Antarctica Ice Station Rescue

6 June 2017 10:09 PM, PDT | The Guardian - TV News | See recent The Guardian - TV News news »

An all-white school merges with an all-Asian school in a soapy new drama, as Gregg Wallace and Chris Bavin help families eat healthily. Plus: the Antarctic survey team attempts to save its research station

A sort of Brexit Britain cross between Shameless and Waterloo Road, this soapy but serious drama takes place in a Yorkshire town where the new academy is a merger of two schools: one all-white, one all-Asian. That rather stark portrayal of multiculturalism as an inescapable, all-encompassing issue rubs up against stuff about teachers’ and students’ personal crises. A uniformly strong cast (Jo Joyner, Adil Ray, Arsher Ali, Paul Nicholls) makes it work. Jack Seale
