Arrow Ep. 3.19 “Broken Arrow” sees off a series regular in another overstuffed hour

Arrow Season 3, Episode 19 “Broken Arrow

Written by Jake Coburn (story), Ben Sokolowski & Brian Ford Sullivan (teleplay)

Directed by Doug Aarniokoski

Airs Wednesdays at 8pm Et on The CW

All season, Arrow has struggled to find balance – a fitting metaphor for its main character, who is now learning that when there are too many balls in the air, there is no such thing as balance. Hell, half of the season has been hijacked by the Tony Star- Ray Palmer story, which is basically Oliver’s story without all of the physical and emotional trauma that comes along with it, which has often left Oliver a reactionary character on his own freakin’ television show. Throw on top the show’s regression with characters like Quentin (who is back to season one levels of obsessed dickhead cop in recent weeks, as he hunts the Arrow), Diggle, and Nyssa, and it’s become clear »

Will 'Arrow' Season 3 Kill Off a Main Character?

7 March 2015 9:07 AM, PST | MovieWeb | See recent MovieWeb news »

Any TV death is both good for ratings and sad for fans. Sometimes it causes outrage, sometimes it is needed to push the narrative arc home, and sometimes, we just want to see a character Go! While Arrow has been no stranger to killing off popular characters in the past, it sounds like that may be happening again in the very near future. But who will it be?

This past week, star Stephen Amell sent out a cryptic tweet hinting that someone long associated with the show was saying 'good-bye'. This was later followed by David Ramsey, who plays fan favorite Diggle, sending out an instagram declaring 'Long live Team Arrow'. This partnered with upcoming titles such as Broken Arrow, which will be followed by The Fallen, have many speculating that a major death is in the cards before the Arrow Season 3 finale plays out.

Who could it be, »

Is A Major Character On Arrow Going To Die?

7 March 2015 5:53 AM, PST | ComicBookMovie.com | See recent ComicBookMovie news »

While filming Arrow season 3 episode 19, "Broken Arrow" Oliver queen actor Stephen Amell and Roy Harper actor Colton Haynes shared via twitter that they had just finished filming a" very emotional scene" and that it was a "tough goodbye."  This particular episode airs in April and is directed by Doug Aarniokoski from a script penned by Ben Sokolowski and Brian Ford Sullivan.  The very next episode is titled "The Fallen" and is directed by Antonie Negret with scipting duties handled by Wendy Mericle and Oscar Balderrama.  All evidence seems to indicated that someone that Haynes and Amell have shared a lot of scenes with is saying goodbye, possibly for good.  Adding a bit of fule to the fire is the fact that David Ramsey shared a behind-the-scenes pic on Instagram with the caption "Long Live....Team Arrow!." Is the person saying goodbye, someone in this photo?  We may get more definite »

Arrow Ep. 3.15 “Nanda Parbat” benefits from the presence of truth

27 February 2015 5:02 PM, PST | SoundOnSight | See recent SoundOnSight news »

Arrow Season 3, Episode 15 “Nanda Parbat”

Written by Wendy Mericle (story), Erik Oleson (teleplay), and Ben Sokolowski (story & teleplay)

Directed by Gregory Smith

Airs Wednesdays at 8pm Et on The CW

Stepping back and viewing “Nanda Parbat” as a whole is kind of a bad idea. On a broad scale, Arrow is a bit of a hot mess right now, juggling multiple story lines and integrating wildly different character arcs with each other, all to varying degrees of success – and in some cases, coherency. A lot of what’s going on this season still isn’t clear; and the decisions made in the last fifteen minutes of this episode by the writers only complicate these matters further, in not-so-fun ways. Despite that, there’s one thing “Nanda Parbat” has going for it that too many episodes this season have lacked: truth, something many characters have avoided speaking up until this point. »
