Arrow Ep. 2.15 “The Promise” underwhelms at times with love triangle dramatics

Arrow Season 2, Episode 15 “The Promise”

Written by Jake Coburn & Ben Sokolowski

Directed by Glen Winter

Airs Wednesday nights at 8pm Et on The CW

Every time a character on Arrow mentions “the island”, I can’t help but shudder a bit. From the pilot episode, Arrow’s struggled mightily to make the many, many flashbacks to Oliver’s post-crash adventures engaging in any sort of way. Following the ending of last week's "Time of Death," which saw Oliver (Stephen Amell) discover that Slade (played by Manu Bennett and better known to DC Comics fans as Deathstroke) was not only alive but in Starling City and meeting with Moira (Susanna Thompson), "The Promise" is set to detail exactly how things went so terribly wrong between Oliver and Slade on Lian Yu. "Slade's presence just changes everything," Guggenheim told Cbr. »
