Even with the uncertainty surrounding the direction of the as-yet untitled Han Solo film, nothing could stem the tide of anticipation surrounding Donald Glover’s debut as Lando Calrissian. Glover, the “Atlanta” star and creator who makes music as Childish Gambino, will take on the role originated by heartthrob of the 1970s and ’80s, Billy Dee Williams.

Knowing too well how much fans are clamoring for a look at Glover in the classic role, director Ron Howard (who recently stepped in after Phil Lord and Christopher Miller were ousted), shared a first look photo from the set of the movie. A still of Glover wearing a yellow uniform inside a cockpit can be seen above the caption: “Lining up a shot today from my director’s monitor.”

The shot would appear to see Glover sat in the cockpit of the Millennium Falcon pouring over the controls. Only last week Howard posted a picture of the wardrobe of the young Lando, confirming he is currently working on scenes with Glover.
Lando was a smuggler, gambler, and card player who became Baron Administrator of Cloud City and, later, a general in the Rebel Alliance. He was the owner of the Millennium Falcon before losing it to Han Solo in a game of sabacc. After losing the Falcon, Calrissian put an end to his days as a smuggler and became an entrepreneur, »

Here’s a close up look at the shot of Lando in the cockpit of the Millennium Falcon…

Ron Howard is now very much at work on the Han Solo stand-alone movie over at Lucasfilm, and has been fairly proactive in sharing as much as he can/ is allowed on social media. The filmmaker, who took over directing duties from Chris Miller and Phil Lord earlier this month, shared an interesting new image from the set of the film, which may just give us our first look at Atlanta actor Donald Glover as Star Wars icon Lando Calrissian.

When news broke that Disney and Lucasfilm’s Han Solo spinoff had fallen on hard times, many feared the worst.
Four months into an intense shoot, Lucasfilm boss and all-around Star Wars veteran Kathleen Kennedy formally announced that due to creative differences, The Lego Movie directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller were no longer attached to the anthology pic, which would instead be ushered over the finish line by Ron Howard. Eager to put any production woes behind them, the folks at Lucasfilm ensured a quick turnaround when locating a replacement director, and in the space of just 48 hours, two became one at the helm of 2018’s Han Solo origin story.
But if production ground to a halt late last month, Star Wars fans can take solace in the fact that filming has now resumed on the Alden Ehrenreich-fronted spinoff, and a new wave of set photos have trickled online to prove it. »

The upcoming Untitled Han Solo Movie isn’t just the tale of a young Han Solo (Alden Ehrenreich), but also about a young Chewbacca as well. You wouldn’t think the character ages, as he looked the exact same while Han eventually turned into the grizzled, white-haired hero (Harrison Ford) we saw in Force Awakens. Nevertheless, a picture of him on the set of Solo has come out, and Chewie... Read More »

Now that its production troubles seem to be in the past and Ron Howard is getting down to work, the filmmaker has taken to social media to share a new photo from the Han Solo Star Wars Anthology movie featuring Chewbacca as he checks out a shot…
Looking closely at the shot in question, it appears to show two Wookiees embracing, which begs the question: might we be seeing Chewie’s family for the first time since the infamous Star Wars: Holiday Special? Or could he be getting another love interest? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below…

Since taking over as director of the still untitled standalone Han Solo movie, Ron Howard has been busy posting pictures from set. Not much was revealed until Monday morning when he shared a photo of young Chewbacca. Captioned “#Chewie checking the shot. #UntitledHanSoloMovie,” the photo shows Chewbacca, played by Joonas Suotamo, looking at the screen (on which we can’t see much except for two characters huddling amid a misty scene). Peter Mayhew played the iconic character in the “Star Wars” films. The “Star Wars” spin off stars Alden Ehrenreich as Han Solo, the role that Harrison Ford made famous. »

After the flurry of controversy surrounding the Han Solo movie last month, it seems like things are finally back on track as Ron Howard has taken over as director. He seems to have wasted no time in sharing set photos with fans since he took over, with the filmmaker showing off a particular character’s wardrobe via Twitter. A character you may recognize by his cool-manner, and fashionable mustache.

It certainly looks like Lando Calrissian’s clothes. Donald Glover, who is playing Lando in the upcoming film, is already sporting the iconic mustache, and it looks like he now has the gear to match.

With things now settling down for the next Star Wars anthology movie, a film set between Episode III and A New Hope about the adventures of a young Han Solo, Woody Harrelson is now saying to “relax” because of what the new director brings to the table.
In an interview with Uproxx, the actor sounded very confident in the film’s new direction, saying: “Oh, you can relax, man — because obviously the Force is with us,” before bursting into laughter.
“Ron is great. He’s awesome. He’s such a gentleman and so prepared,” said Harrelson. “And I loved Chris and Phil. But I think we did land in very capable hands. »

Woody Harrelson is out and about promoting War for the Planet of the Apes, but he set aside some time to talk about the upcoming untitled Han Solo movie, noting that new director Ron Howard is "awesome" and that the project is in "very capable hands." The Han Solo movie seems to finally be on the rebound after the shocking news that directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller had been fired from the project due to the ol' creative differences excuse, which may for once actually be true. Ron Howard has stepped up to finish what Miller and Lord have started and Woody Harrelson, who portrays Becket in the spin-off couldn't be happier about the situation.
Uproxx recently sat down with Woody Harrelson to talk about War for the Planet of the Apes and the subject inevitably switched gears to talk about the Han Solo movie and the controversy surrounding the project. »
Just weeks before the conclusion of principal photography, directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller were replaced by Ron Howard as the director of the upcoming untitled “Star Wars” Han Solo spinoff, to the dismay of some — but not, apparently, Woody Harrelson.
The actor expressed his confidence in the directing shakeup in an interview with Uproxx.
“Oh, you can relax, man — because obviously the Force is with us,” Harrelson said, before bursting into laughter.
Harrelson, who is set to play a mysterious mentor to young Han Solo, worked with Howard on the 1999 comedy “EDtv.” “Ron is great. He’s awesome. He’s such a gentleman and so prepared,” Harrelson continued.

At least, that’s according to Woody Harrelson, who spoke with Uproxx in anticipation of War For the Planet of the Apes. Similar to how his Apes director Matt Reeves has been soliciting nine kinds of questions regarding The Batman, Harrelson has been hounded about his involvement in Star Wars and, more recently, how Lord and Miller’s departure has affected those on the ground level.
Given how quickly Disney drafted in a replacement – two days elapsed between the firing of Lord and Miller and subsequent appointment of the Oscar-winning Ron Howard – it’s no surprise to learn that filming has already resumed on the Han Solo set, with leaked pictures revealing Alden Ehrenreich decked out in costume as the young nerf-herder standing alongside everyone’s favorite Wookiee, »

Despite reports hinting that the Han Solo movie’s production is being ran like a circus where monkeys are the ring leaders and the clowns are just bears that got into the make-up room, the movie is indeed back on schedule and filming is going smoothly. As evidence, new photos have dropped (a.k.a leaked) from the set featuring Alden Ehrenreich, Woody Harrelson, and the furry Chewbacca hard at work. TMZ got... Read More »

The next Star Wars spin-off project, the as-yet-untitled Han Solo film, has certainly had a bit of a bumpy ride recently. The project recently saw the shock departure of directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller, followed by the news that Ron Howard had taken the helm to finish off the film. So far we’ve seen very little from the film, however today a couple of set photos have shown up on TMZ.
The photos (and one video which can be seen below) show Woody Harrelson’s character Beckett coming face to face with the young Han Solo played by Alden Ehrenreich, a female character who can’t be deciphered clearly but could be Emilia Clarke’s top secret outing in the project. We also get a glimpse of the furry Chewbacca all set in, in what looks like, a space station command centre. Possibly an Imperial one. »

TMZ have leaked a Han Solo Movie set photo showing Woody Harrelson hanging out with a younger Han and Chewbacca. The images show action from the movie which the outlet says were taken before Ron Howard took over as director on the high profile movie at Lucasfilm and Disney earlier this month.
Han Solo movie set photo reveals Han, Chewie and Woody!
The outlet reports:
In new pics from the set, obtained by TMZ, Harrelson’s character Beckett meets up with Han Solo — played by Alden Ehrenreich — and Chewie in what looks like some sort of space station.
The Han Solo movie set photo clearly shows a female character too, but it is not clear as to who this may be? Could it be the character played by Game Of Thrones and Terminator: Genisys star Emilia Clarke?

New set photographs from the set of the Han Solo movie are here and they show Han Solo and Chewbacca with Woody Harrelson's Beckett character. The leaked photos are reportedly taken from before Ron Howard took over the project from Phil Lord and Chris Miller. The change of directors seems to be running smooth, but fans are still quite skeptical about the fate of the Han Solo movie. Rumors of acting coaches, Ace Ventura impressions, and general unhappiness behind the scenes have been plaguing the movie for weeks and it's hard to see the fog lifting any time soon. As for now, the Star Wars spin-off is expected to arrive on schedule and Disney and Lucasfilm are confident in Howard's ability to bring the movie to the finish line.

After a massive setback a few weeks ago, when directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller were allegedly fired from the production, the upcoming Han Solo spinoff is now back on track with Ron Howard coming in to steer the ship and take their place. While we haven’t yet had a look at any of the scenes that the director’s now shooting, some snaps that were reportedly taken back when Miller and Lord were still helming the movie have leaked online today, and you can check them out in the gallery up above.

Disney and Lucasfilm’s Han Solo movie may be on a short break while new director Ron Howard takes stock of the situation following the departure of Phil Lord and Chris Miller, but thanks to TMZ we’ve got a look at a few new set photos from the Star Wars spinoff.

The upcoming "Star Wars" Han Solo installment has gone through some changes, but one thing we know for sure ... Woody Harrelson will hang with Han and Chewbacca in the movie at some point.
