Adam Rench was born in Northern Illinois and didn't make a movie until he was 27 years old. He grew up in a small rural town named Lake Villa, Illinois, which is an hour north of Chicago. Adam is the son of critically acclaimed still photographer, David Rench, and his wife and assistant Carol Rench. Adam is married to Linda Rench and they are parents of two children, a boy Indiana Rench and a girl River Rench.

Adam made his first movie in Spring Grove, IL in 2005 and it took place in a bar - "So A Guy Walks Into A Bar". This short film was never released and was never made officially on DVD, but it started to spread throughout the area where it was filmed quickly. The actors started to get recognized by strangers on the street "Hey you're that guy from the bar movie!" people would say. It was shown at a local film festival near Chicago and received very good praise as a film, but it received outstanding praise as first film.

On his short films Adam does the directing and producing, and many times he does much of the editing, the sound design, and other work too. Adam never attended film school and learned all of his filmmaking techniques from experience and self teaching.

Since 2008 he only produces and directs feature films.
