'Glee' Michael Jackson tribute: Listen to Dianna Agron's 'Never Can Say Goodbye'

29 December 2011 5:17 PM, PST | Zap2It - From Inside the Box | See recent Zap2It - From Inside the Box news »

"Glee" songs have a way of leaking online before they officially air on the show, so it's no surprise some of the covers from the Fox hit's upcoming Michael Jackson tribute episode have started trickling out.

Up first? Dianna Agron's ultra-pleasant take on the Jackson 5's "Never Can Say Goodbye."

Agron always sounds best on the retro tunes -- remember her lovely "I Say a Little Prayer" during Season 1? We dig the sweet tone of her voice, so this Jackson 5 track was a fantastic pick for her.

Listen to the song below, and tell us which "Glee" Mj cover you're most anticipating. You can find the full track list here. Personally, we can't wait to hear what mind-blowing things Kevin McHale does with "Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough."

'Glee' Michael Jackson tribute song list leaks

27 December 2011 11:31 AM, PST | Zap2It - From Inside the Box | See recent Zap2It - From Inside the Box news »

We know we're not supposed to believe everything we read on random spoiler sites, but we can't help but take a second look at this leaked set list believed to be from the upcoming "Glee" Michael Jackson tribute episode.

Judging from other bits and pieces of intel coming from the set, this tracklisting seems pretty legit. While we're okay with waiting until the big January episode to hear how these tunes turn out (or, you know, whenever they want to release 'em), we'll happily speculate over whether this list is the real deal or not.

As reported on Perez Hilton, here's what the "Glee" gang will sing come Jan. 24:

"Wanna Be Startin' Somethin'" -- Blaine

"Bad" -- New Directions & Warblers

"I Just Can't Stop Loving You" -- Finn & Rachel

"Smooth Criminal" -- Santana & Sebastian

"Never Can Say Goodbye" -- Quinn

"In The Closet" -- Brittany & Santana

Colin Farrell dropped in on a Dublin hospital on Christmas Day and delivered presents to over 100 children. No press were alerted and even Colin's representative wasn't notified it was happening. It only came to light after parents tweeted pictures.

Glee to Cover Rihanna, Maroon 5: Listen Now!

19 December 2011 2:10 PM, PST | TVfanatic | See recent TVfanatic news »

Based on the promo for its 2012 return, we know a few storylines on the way for Glee:

Will is set to propose; Finn might join the Army; Sam will become a synchronized swimmer.

Now, we also have an idea of what sort of songs the show will cover. Look for more mainstream, modern tracks to be heard in the new year, starting with a Lea Michele and Naya Rivera duet on Rihanna's "We Found Love" and Kevin McHale mashing up "Moves Like Jagger" and "Jumpin' Jack Flash." Listen to both versions now and remember:

'Glee' gets current with 'We Found Love,' 'Moves Like Jagger' covers: Listen here!

19 December 2011 12:11 PM, PST | Zap2It - From Inside the Box | See recent Zap2It - From Inside the Box news »

While the first half of "Glee" Season 3 featured more show tunes than chart-toppers, several recently released tracks from the second half of the season show a new direction for the Fox series.

First, Lea Michele and Naya Rivera tackle Rihanna's flawless Euro-pop track in a pretty faithful rendition (the synths are luckily still in tact). This is one of our favorite songs from Rihanna's new album, so we're psyched to have a "Glee" cover.

Less successful is Kevin McHale's mashup of "Moves Like Jagger" and "Jumpin' Jack Flash," not because he isn't a wonderful singer, but because the songs really don't have anything in common (aside from the Jagger connection). The Maroon 5 parts are faithful to the original, so if you're a fan of the tune (and really, who isn't), you might enjoy at least part of the track. It just didn't gel as a whole for us, »

North Korean leader Kim Jong Il died Saturday morning. It is expected to send shock waves throughout the world as no plan for succession has been announced publicly, though his son has been mentioned as a possible successor.

Students in New York who were suspended over "Tebowing" in the hall during class changes are protesting their suspension. The school board says it has nothing to do with religious freedom (and the students admit it was more about the football than praying), but having students incite 40 people to drop to one knee in crowded hallways disrupts class changes and creates fire hazards. Cell phone video seems to support the administration.

Deadline seems to think GLAAD is getting worked up over nothing with the protest of Work It. It's just a guys-in-dresses comedy in the British tradition. This is of course not taking into account the advertising with men in dresses at urinals, »

Glee 2012 Return Promo

Glee 2012 Return Promo

With Glee having aired its holiday themed episode, “Extraordinary Merry Christmas”, we can say goodbye to the musically charming series until it returns next month on January 17th. Just what is there to expect from the second half of Season 3 and the kids of McKlinley High? Well if I had to describe it I would say everyone’s brains short circuit, causing them to all make rash decisions that could spell disaster for them in the future.

As you can see from the promo below, Sam (Chord Overstreet) will receive a nice slushy to the face, most likely because of his decision to join synchronized swimming. Apparently swimming isn’t cool if it’s synchronized. And what’s this about Finn (Cory Monteith) speaking to a military recruiter? He can’t be serious right? Why would he want to join the military? I’m hoping that particularly »

Glee Season 3 Episode 9: An Extraordinarily Weird Merry Christmas

14 December 2011 4:39 PM, PST | BuzzFocus.com | See recent BuzzFocus.com news »

It was an “Extraordinary” Christmas indeed on Glee. Everyone loves a cheesy Christmas special but “Extraordinary Merry Christmas” was nothing more than an unfortunate, fluffy filler episode. The showrunners got off to an annoying start, shifted to awkward and then finished off with a homeless-shelter performance. The Glee club was given the opportunity to produce a Christmas special on their local television station. Artie (Kevin McHale) was tapped to direct and he began his second annoying turn as dictator. When Artie is in a position of power he gets too demanding and headstrong. He refused to allow any heartbreak in Christmas and even cancelled on going to the homeless shelter because his special was too important. His only saving grace was his beautiful holiday sweaters. The vest/turtle neck combo was my favorite. Rachel (Lea Michele) was also as self centered as ever last night. All she kept talking about »

‘Glee’ Recap: New Directions Stage An Awful Christmas Special

13 December 2011 6:43 PM, PST | HollywoodLife | See recent HollywoodLife news »

The glee club originally agrees to sing for a homeless shelter, but then backs out to film what turns out to be a truly terrible TV show. Glee was definitely all over the place during its latest episode -- "Extraordinary Merry Christmas." Following a passable rendition of "All I Want For Christmas" led by Mercedes (Amber Riley), Sue Sylvester (Jane Lynch) showed us her occasionally manifested soft side when she asked New Directions to perform for a homeless shelter. Artie (Kevin McHale), Kurt (Chris Colfer) and Blaine (Darren Criss) agree to Sue's request, but are soon persuaded by the chance to create a TV special for the local station and they ditch Sue, who is not happy with the decision. Due to his success with West Side Story, Artie takes the helm for the show, and produces what may have been the worst few minutes ever seen on Glee. It's »

'Glee' spoilers: Michael Jackson deets and a Will & Emma wedding?

13 December 2011 12:54 PM, PST | Zap2It - From Inside the Box | See recent Zap2It - From Inside the Box news »

While "Glee" is gearing up to celebrate Christmas in the Dec. 13 episode "Extraordinary Merry Christmas," directed by star Matthew Morrison, the cast is currently shooting the upcoming Michael Jackson tribute episode.

Star Kevin McHale shared his excitement on Twitter, writing, "This Mj ep is gonna be crazyyyy. Can't believe we're doing this! Just did such a fun scene, can't wait for you all to see! ahhh!"

For those who can't wait until January to find out more about the special Mj installment, TV Guide has more details. Apparently, Mr. Schuester will host "Michael Week" after the Troubletones ladies get sad that they didn't sing the Jackson medley at Sectionals. The episode will include 12 songs spanning Jackson's entire career.

Specifically, Blaine will sing "Wanna Be Startin' Somethin'," Finn and Rachel will duet on "I Just Can't Stop Loving You," and the Warblers will also get a track. Look for more details »

All "Glee" Wants For Christmas Is Another Chart Topping Single

9 December 2011 3:06 PM, PST | The Backlot | See recent The Backlot news »

There will of course be a good deed for the Grinch.

All that's left of Glee this year is the Christmas episode, and like any holiday special you can expect heartwarming songs and good deeds done. It looks as if the entire glee club, plus the Grinch herself, Sue Sylvester (Jane Lynch) get together to throw a Christmas party for the most diverse group of children I've ever seen assembled on television. I'm going to assume the kids are needy in some way since they sing the Band Aid classic "Do They Know It's Christmas?"

And if that wasn't enough to warm your cockles, Mercedes (Amber Riley) seems to be making a move in her love life, but toward which boy? If the video for "All I Want For Christmas Is You" is any indication, she may be thinking fondly of "Summer Lovin'."

There also seems to be a plotline »

Chewbacca Comes to Glee: Extraordinary Merry Christmas Episode 3.09

7 December 2011 7:01 AM, PST | MovieWeb | See recent MovieWeb news »

Fans (are there any?) of 1978's The Star Wars Holiday Special will get a special treat this coming Tuesday, December 13th, when that most famous Wookie of all, Chewbacca, takes a star turn on Glee to pay homage to his own infamous Christmas (or rather Wookie Life Day) variety hour.

Glee: Extraordinary Merry Christmas will honor the great tradition of Christmas specials, while riffing on both Judy Garland and The Star Wars Holiday Special. The episode will revolve around the New Direction Glee Club needing to be in two places at once for a couple of Holiday themed concerts. And yes, Chewbacca will arrive at some point in the show to dance with the kids.

Star Wars fans and Chewbacca enthusiasts shouldn't get too up in arms about this guest appearance. It's a well known fact that Chewbacca is a dancer, as witnessed in one of the most popular »
