He was awarded the A.M. (Member of the Order of Australia) in the 1980 Queen's Birthday Honours List for his services to the sport of motor racing.
He was awarded the Australian Sports Medal in October 2000 for his services to motor racing.
He was awarded the Australian Centenary Medal in the Queen's 2001 New Years Honours List for his services to fund-raising.
His brother is the former stunt driver Phil Brock (II). Phil and his other brother, councilor Lewis Brock run the Brock Bros Real Estate agency.
