Modern Pop Songs Written About Exes

24 March 2017 11:10 AM, PDT | PEOPLE.com | See recent PEOPLE.com news »

John Mayer has a new song, “Still Feel Like Your Man,” which he’s described as being explicitly about Katy Perry. Not only does it add to Mayer’s back catalog of breakup songs — see below — but it also adds to the modern canon of pop breakup songs we know are about certain people. Carly Simon’s decades-long tease about who’s at the center of “You’re So Vain” (or, well, the second verse, anyway) — maybe the most famous of that genre — ended in 2015. But since then, there have been any number of songs by pop stars that throw a little shade at exes, »

John Mayer still misses Katy Perry.

The "Still Feel Like Your Man" star confirmed in a New York Times interview published Thursday that his catchy new tune about missing an ex is indeed about his pop star former flame.

"Who else would I be thinking about?" the 39-year-old singer-songwriter shared. "And by the way, it’s a testament to the fact that I have not dated a lot of people in the last five, six years. That was my only relationship. So it’s like, give me this, people."

RaeLynn’s Ready: 5 Years After ‘The Voice,’ Blake Shelton’s Protege is Finally Making Her Big Debut

23 March 2017 7:30 AM, PDT | Entertainment Tonight | See recent Entertainment Tonight news »

Allow RaeLynn to reintroduce herself.

It's been more than five years since the country darling first caught Blake Shelton's ear with her Pistol Annies-inspired blind audition on The Voice's second season.  "I heard this voice start to sing, and it was familiar, but it was also like something I'd never heard before," Shelton tells Et. "Instantly, she looked like a star standing there -- an unexplainable thing that she has about her that separates her from everybody else in the world."

Then just 17 years old, competing for Team Blake, RaeLynn was ultimately sent home by her coach during the competition's quarterfinals. And that's when the real work began.

"I went straight back to Nashville, started writing Monday through Friday, then got my butt in a van," the 22-year-old tells Et. "I went to every country radio station in the U.S., got ready in gas stations, lived off Starbucks and Chick-fil-a -- that's how it »

Where in the World Is Taylor Swift?

23 March 2017 3:00 AM, PDT | E! Online | See recent E! Online news »

Has anyone seen Taylor Swift? The leader of the girl squad truly has been M.I.A. for a while, and it's time we figure out where she is—or, at the very least, what happened. Aside from birthday tributes to her closest friends, professional photos from her Super Saturday performance over Super Bowl Weekend and stills from her "I Don't Wanna Live Forever" music video with Zayn Malik, T.Swift hasn't posted a candid photo since Thanksgiving 2016. For someone who seemingly posted candids of her friends fairly regularly, that's a dramatic decrease. In fact, Swift in general has greatly decreased her presence. Obviously, there could be many theories in play, the most popular being that she is »

Rupert Grint Says He Made Ed Sheeran Up to Create "Real Magic" After Harry Potter

22 March 2017 12:45 PM, PDT | Popsugar.com | See recent Popsugar news »

The resemblance between Rupert Grint and Ed Sheeran is nothing new (personally, we don't see it, besides the red hair). While we've loved each of them individually for their amazing careers and talents (one blessed us with Harry Potter, the other with Divide), Rupert decided to come clean about what's really going on during a recent stop at MTV. In a hilarious skit with Josh Horowitz, the Snatched actor revealed that Ed actually isn't a real person. He explained that he made Ed up after Harry Potter ended because he wanted to create "real magic," but it's now become too hard to lead a double life. "I created a character," he said. "He had the voice of an angel, impossibly wispy facial hair . . . so I bought a guitar and a bunch of flannel. I called him Ed, Ed Sheeran. Such a weird name, right?" Before ultimately deciding to still keep Ed around, »

Review — ‘Deidra & Laney Rob a Train’ Is Dual Genre Delight

‘Deidra & Laney Rob a Train’ Is Dual Genre DelightThe high school heist earns the pun “Ocean’s For Teen.”

Contrary to the title, Deidra and Laney rob many trains. They become prolific thieves, mastering and streamlining their illegal profession into the delicate series of events we usually see in heist movies. All while the sisters attend high school. Yes, Deidra & Laney Rob a Train is both a caper film and a high school comedy and for every moment it stumbles at one, it excels at the other.

Put into a desperate living situation after their mother’s (Danielle Nicolet) nervous breakdown-induced incarceration (she liberates a TV from her blue-poloed electronics store job, then this mortal coil), elder sister Deidra (Ashleigh Murray) must care for her younger sister Laney (Rachel Crow) and kid brother Jet (Lance Gray) against forces such as mortgage payments and snooping Cps agents.
