Son of actor Kurt Garfield, brother of Jason Garfield, very closely related to John Garfield, David was born in Brooklyn, New York as a 3rd generation actor David started shooting/editing films at age 13. At age 15, he performed live on television as a juggler ("Kids on Stage '87", Seattle, Washington). He has since written, produced, and directed three independent films each of which has gained their own admiration by fans and national press.

Was friends with Christian Slater at eleven years old.

Impersonated 'Garth' from _"Wayne's World" (1992)_ for Dana Carvey on the set, and he said it was "frighteningly accurate and impressive".
